Making a Decision
I have been a daily drinker, drinking up to 3 glasses of wine each evening; for me I feel it is too much and there is at least one night a week that I have gone over my 3 glasses. So I have decided to tighten up and moderate - so for the last four days I did not drink and then last night I had my first two glasses of wine. I can't say that I craved to drink, it is more of a habit and relaxation than a craving. Today being Easter Sunday I think I will abstain tonight. I'd be interesting in hearing others plans on how to moderate.:thanks:Tags: None

Get on the "Long Term Moderators" thread and start reading.
The "Modders" have been around a LONG time!
There are all our stories and plenty of info
(you won't have to reinvent the wheel-it's all been done before!).
Good Luck!!!

I recommend that you go at least 30 days without alcohol. This gives you a great opportunity to learn AF habits to replace that reliance on alcohol. Under Monthly Abstinence, there is a toolbox thread with many great strategies including ways to relax without alcohol. I feel it took me a long tome to realize that I really had forgotten how to relax. My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Making a Decision
I am going to second what sunbeam says above. I am on day 50 AF. I only used to drink once a week before that most weeks (although it would be more than a bottle of wine oftentimes nearer to two on the night in question). But I still felt that plenty of time AF was necessary as sunny says to rethink how you deal with not having AL, see if you still want to drink at the end and when it is that you want to drink. I recommend you think about this first. If you decide to do it, you will really find out where you are at with wine. And you will have lots of time to read the Mod Threads and assess what to do/try after this time. As Kid says theres lots of help there. i start my modding next week, which for me will be more special occasion drinking. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
