Thanks for the response Gyco , I value your insight , observations and experience. I will not argue that there is a possible addiction. As I have looked it over as clearly as I can I primarily drank when I was bored and unstimulated to achieve / get something done.

Sure I did the binge thing in college and living in a college town for years kept me in that atmosphere.

Since I have been away from that I could care less about going out to a bar.

I'm 44 now and "handled" drinking for years......now it is time to practice moderation or give it up.

I believe it helps for me to ADMIT my situation as I see it....and APPRECIATE those like you for listening and providing honest feedback. :thanks: Keep it coming !!!!!!!!!!

I am ashamed and have let myself down.

I consumed 11 cans of beer last night.

I am not going to keep kicking myself.

I need to get back with the plan.

Outside influences were bad yesterday.....two different people tried to talk me into putting my 82 year old Father in a nursing home.......I had to decide to sell his cattle that he loves and I have taken care of for the past two years ( along with being the sole caregiver for him) hoping he would recover and be able to go back to piddling with them.

Those are just excuses. it was my decision to stop and get a 12 pack.

Hi RR - oh, man, I'm sorry for what you're going through. I can really relate because I had to put my dad into assisted living not long ago. Ugh. Life is full of tough things to handle, especially when it comes to family.

And, the cows, that makes me want to cry RR - I love animals and know how attached we become to, yes, even cows.

Please know that I'm thinking of you. Do yourself a favor and have an AF night if you possibly can.

          Hugs,

            AF it is KG !!!!!!!!!!!

Family , Family Farm......it is so sad to see a pure way of life go away.

It is all part of the circle of life........but so is grieving over it too.

I am fortunate to be self employed and to have been able to keep my Dad with me for the past two years and keep his cows. Circumstances dictate that the cows need to go in order for me to provide additional help to him.

If you wan't KG.......I'll be glad to send YOU a Brahma Bull......he is big but just a teddy bear.......he is real good at keeping the grass cut AND he is an excellent source of manur.....I mean fertilizer

RR, my fencing isn't good enough, or I'd have you send him on over.:H:H Interestingly, we live on a little bit of acreage and are working on getting a wildlife exemption. I have lots of birds.

Well, I'm so sorry to hear you're having to get rid of the farm. A heartbreaking trend throughout the country. Kills me to see all the concrete being poured and trees being leveled around here. Not sure where it will all end............don't get me going, arrghhh!

Glad you're going to have an AF night - just relax and watch some tv or read. You'll feel so much better tomorrow!

                n

gotta excuse my ignorance here....but we don't have wildlife exemptions that I know of around here.....the Coyotes don't pay attention to no trespassing signs very well.....

What kinda wildlife do ya'll want ?

Happy "wildlife" in my house tonight. Two freshly "fixed" young tomcats.

I take it cats are not allowed with the birds ? Or is it a 24 x 7 Sylvester and Tweety Bird show ?

AF even after dinner at the Mexican Restaurant.....Wasn't even tempted.

RR, wildlife exemptons are the greatest! I live in an area where people just arbitrarily put animals on their land to get the tax break. The animals overgraze, etc. and aren't really there for the right reasons. The WL exemption fosters the idea of open space. That is, it's incentive for people to not develop their land and still getting the tax break by fostering wildlife. You pick a "target species." Mine is songbirds. Then, you do certain things to attract them. For us it's food, water, shelter. You have to do bird counts and document, but it's so worth it. I couldn't afford to live here if it weren't for the exemption, so it's really a win/win! And, I love the birds.

Now, you bring up an interesting point. Cats. Cats are a huge problem for the birds. So, what I've done is build this fantastic inside/outside house for my 3 cats. They have a heated/cooled house which is completely insulated and really nice. It's attached to this enormous outside enclosure where they can go whenever they want. Best of all worlds - they can't get to the birds but can go in or out at will. I spend time with them out there so they don't get lonely. Then, I have one cat I adopted from a shelter (actually they were all adopted from the shelter). But this one stays inside because she had been declawed when I got her.

Now, I know that's more than you ever wanted to know about WL exemption!

So, glad you didn't have any al last night. Hope you're feeling wonderful today after an AF night's sleep!!

Ahhhh....I understand. Very similar to a program here where there are incentives to grow tree's instead of farm the land for human food

Now KG.....Be VERY QUITE about the heated and cooled Kitty Quarters....I don't want any of my beloved flea bitten fur bags to get any ideas. Once they get ideas....they bring it up with the local Feline Union....then they want to renegotiate contracts......sometimes they strike....carry around signs saying....LESS MOUSING...MORE PAY.......oh it is ugly

And when they work WITH the local K-9 Union it is terrible......Cats...Dogs....living together in harmony....

So are yall gonna have guests this weekend......and chill that HALF bottle of wine ?!?!?!?

RR - now I can sense that your kitties are in need of spoiling. Be nice to them. I love, love, love kitties.

This weekend - the wine will probably get corked over Indian food on Saturday night - I'll get to put on my big girl pants!!

                      What's on your agenda?

My cats are so rotten they need to spend some time "scared Straight" in the local animal shelter

Busy weekend working with the cattle and trying to go through stuff paper by paper in my Dad's house. I know I am going to have to get help sooner or later with him and boy there is just so much accumulation of stuff.

How did the dinner go ?????

Any videos of table dancing end up on the internet ????

RR, dinner was good - the wine was better than the food. But, I was a good girl and had my 1/2 bottle and that was it! It actually takes an entire bottle on my own to start the table dancing. It would take some vodka after the bottle for me to get to the internet posting stage!

Sorry you're having to go through the transition stuff with your dad. Isn't it incredible how much crap we accumulate! I'm committed to getting rid of shit - I hate clutter!!

Take care RR. Hope you're staying on track with your AL goals.

OK...quick check in to 'Fess up. I did it again on a Tuesday Night. 10 cans of beer while working / piddling in my workshop. No excuses....but I know that if I go to the shop to blow off steam I enjoy my beer while doing it. Got to get back to basics. I know that saying no to going to the shop AND saying I am going to sit down at the computer and get a little closer to my course graduation is a win -win situation. I just seem to fall away from that plan once a week.

Ok....beat me up I need it.
