Hi all,
Hope you are all feeling better today. I believe Lush has offered the assistance of her latest hunk over the Christmas period.

Don't laugh but last night I sat on the the burner and today it is hard to sit down!

My grand -daughter 10 months has loads of presents from me- everyone else has none or one tiny one if they are lucky!

Got an e-mail from my son yesterday saying his Christmas card might be late. I am assuming he only sent it after the e-mail!! And he is in Australia- we are in UK.:H

Short day at work here but, with plenty of drama with several of my employees. I feel like their mother sometimes. Why can't people just be professional and play nice? After the office I'm off to buy the last 7 presents! Yeah! My hubby is home sick acting like a big baby so the mall is actually looking pretty good right now.

PP, looks like my grumpy mood from the last two days has transferred to you. I hope your day goes okay.

For fun, I started a thread in general discussion in honor of Kanga about what your favorite embarassing song is. I would love for any of you to go over there and admit.

I am feeling a little weepy because I see Pedro has said goodbye in Once Upon A Time. I am sure he will be back but he wrote quite the ode to us muffs.

Di, how you doing today? In much pain? Sorry ibuprofen was the most exciting drug they would give you.

Waves, am I to assume you sat on your stove??? How does that happen and did you burn your pants?

I was up with my family baking and wrapping caramels until very late last night. I was just exhausted and then halfway through it all got a second wind and really had a nice time. My daughter offered to scrub the kitchen floor because it was dirty, so she cleaned while we baked and wrapped and we all sang Christmas carols. It was really a special night and took my grumpiness away.

Santa day for us so gotta get going.

To all of you that I cannot individually name I am sorry. I wish for all of us a joy-filled, peaceful holiday no matter what we are doing. You are all a big part of me and the transformation I am making with my life and I thank you. I hope the New Year finds most of us still sticking around here. It makes me sad when we forge a relationship with someone and then they just disappear.

Lush, really..the wisdom tooth extraction has been NO problem..I laid around all day yesterday but today, I'm barely aware of it..so that's good.
Getting ready for the G-kids to come over this afternoon..laundry, etc. etc.

Seriously, it does sound painful. There must be a story there... Apparently you're a lot taller than I am! But most people are.
Got an Aloe Vera plant, or some Aloe gel?

I can remember many times, as a kid standing too close in front of the fireplace on those cold mornings... and being barely able to move... when I finally did, because the back of my pants would get so hot, it felt like they were on fire! Probably pretty lucky nobody ever just spontaneously combusted in our house!:H

It was about 4 1/2 years ago ... I had been living out of hotels for a while, and travelling here and there ....


I was at a local eatery and befriended two "nice" ladies who talked me into going to a tavern after dinner. We chatted and chatted. One was a nice 2nd grade teacher. She kept urging me to do a "butt shot" ... I steadfastly declined ... over and over.... 1 a.m. rolls around, and I finally give in.

Apparently (and I still don't really know the "details" even to this day) this little ritual involves a "flaming shot" snuffed out on one's butt cheek and then consumed.

Well, needless to say, she bobbled the shot. The flaming alcohol landed squarely on my ... backside. I was literally on fire.

I was quite injured. I had to go to the local pharmacy for gauze and bandages and ointments and such. I couldn't very well go to the emergency room, now, could I ??

I couldn't sit comfortably -- driving or anywhere -- and slept on my stomach for months. Severe blistering 2nd degree burns, and a scar that looked like Florida. Much vitamin E oil, and you can't see the scar anymore, unless I get too much sun back there ....

Lesson learned.

Don't get talked into fun projects by a 2nd grade "nice" teacher.

Sitting on a burner is NOTHING !! ... although I'm sure it's a bit tender today. I do DO know of what I speak.

OMG! Waves, How'd ya do that? Sounds about like what happened to me in Sept. when I decided to iron a sweater while I was wearing it. Just a small wrinkle, decided to use the steam iron. Stubborn wrinkle, pulled the sweater away and did the steam puff thing. Unfortunately, didn't pull it away far enough. Three burns on right breast. Youch!:upset: First thing in the morning. Sober as a judge! Swear! Wavey, hope the butt gets better.

OMG Best, I did the same thing, only I burned my stomach. How stupid can we be? Hello? Hot steam, going through fabric, skin behind fabric? DUH!!!! That made me laugh.

Tears POURING out of my eyes right now. And not out of empathy. Never heard of a butt shot but will steer clear if I ever hear of one. Oh God, my mascara is rolling down my face. Sorry, I am a horrible friend for not saying I feel bad for you......HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
