Sorry that Becca is having such a hard time. Allie, hope you have a good Christmas. Gypsi, hope you enjoy the spa.

My son's Christmas card arrived yesterday! I only have two presents left to buy and wrap and eventually my tree is up.

Hi Everybody! I, too, am hoping that everyone has a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I also wanted to thank everyone again for your kind words and loving support, and yes, the wonderful advice. Your caring and sharing is just one of the reasons why I love all of you so much, THANK YOU!

Since so many of us are frazzled and stressed at this time, I thought in today's thread we maybe could enjoy a little humor; that is certainly not meant to diminish all the struggles we are going through right now; it's just my bazarre way of trying to help add some "merry" to the Christmas. My son came in with one of his joke books last night and I was chuckling all evening.

My son has a wry sense of humor that did not develop by mistake. When he was young, we had a real hard time getting him to socialize because he always either wanted to hang around the adults or go off by himself. So, we were always doing things to try to get him to interact with children his own age. So, one day I was in a book store and I saw a joke book and thought, "hey, this would be a great way for him to break the ice and interact with others". The book was called "The Official Frier's Club Joke Book". Well, stupid me (a real Doris Day-type) was thinking how wonderful it would be for him to learn these jokes and how wonderfully age appropriate to give him a joke book designed by monks (I was thinking Friar Tuck from "Canterbury Tales" and Friar John from "Robinhood"). WRONG!! "The Frier Club" is an official club that designs ways to "Roast" people in some special ceremony. When my son was half way through the book he came to me and said, "Mom, have you read the jokes in this book?" When I told him to tell me some, he explained that he could not say them out loud, so I read them! Well, after picking myself off the floor in mortified embarrassment, we had a long talk about when and where and what type of jokes should be told!!!

So, last night he brought in a joke book called "Ludicrous Laws & Mindless Misdemeanors". So here are a few short cute things that I hope will make you chuckle:

I dont have much time as I still have to run out and buy groceries for a big dinner tomorrow and all the stores will be closed. One more gift to buy that I havent been able to find... arggh.

Also, just wanted to say that I know the whole situation with Becca and her husband has been laid out for all to see, we had no intention of publicly posting the future details. That is Becca's choice if she so chooses to share how things are in the future. But she did call me this morning in tears just overwhelmed at the love and support of everyone here, and she asked me to just personally thank all of you. She was going to go home to Canada with her parents, but there has been so much positive turn-around in the last 24 hours with them, that they have decided to spend Christmas together with their children and she was so unbelievably happy and grateful. She just wanted you guys to know.

I wish all of you a wonderful Christmas and hope you all love on your children and families as never before. I know I am... and hope I never take them for granted. I just wish we had a little snow or something to help with the Christmas atmosophere. I am so sick of this 80-degree weather and the AC running all the time! Lush, I WISH I could be in Seattle just for a few days!

Just wanted to wish you all the very very best that you could wish for this christmas.....

I won't try to mention everyone by name because I wouldn't want to miss anyone out...........

To ALL OF YOU that are suffering any pain at the minute I truly wish that I could reach out and touch you all and help to ease it...........

To everyone that has ever responded to any of my posts, I am eternally grateful because without you all I would still be reaching 'into the bottle' for help instead of coming here.....

To all the newcomers that I have yet to meet, you have found the best place ever, read & post ........

To Paulb, I feel a special bond with you because we joined at the same time & you have been an inspiration, may you and your family share a special christmas .....
