Yep Paul I like the sound of your plan too. Can't go wrong spending time with babys, dogs, & hills!
The Keys also sound great... I'll bring kayak, dog, & cooler, & of course the water proof stereo!
My plan for New Years Eve is to make lots of $$... not because I really want to... But I guess I need the work. Maybe I'll try out my new pedometer I got for Christmas, see how many miles I really run on a busy night!:eeks:

Happy New Year to everyone! Hope ya have a great one.

        Hi All,

The Keys .............. I swam with dolphins there last february ........... I'm sooooo jealous ..

Thanks everyone for you advice and caring today, unfortunately I carried on drinking this morning, Hubby not talking to me & I feel lousy ..... something similar to the day that I found this site.

Anyway, here's to AF in january, Ive decided to put the money away that I would normally spend on wine & treat myself when I go on holiday in February.

Love & Hugs to all, & get well soon to all thats ill.

Ohh Paula, Sorry to hear that. Doesn't help getting the cold shoulder. Hopefully he won't stay mad too long.
I hope he realizes you are trying. This is not an easy thing to do. Hang in there.

            Hi all,

I am actually typing this from home. I will erase the history on the computer. Well, I am sorry everyone is feeling so badly. Paul and Paula this stuff happens.

I actually drank 5 shots of crown last night in 3 drinks. I heard the trigger and just said F*** it. I feel OK, this morning but drank tons of water in between. Some birthday party. We got snowed in, tried to make it to my parents and were going to meet the kids at a restaurant across town. Well, the roads were super slushy and my car temp went from 34 to 32 that is when I decided we would all be trying to make it back home in a black ice street condition. Not worth the risks.

In Albuquerque they have hit the record high 14" early this morning and still snowing. Airport is closed my in laws are stuck in Houston, the boys are suppose to leave tomorrow morning for the VI but I am not too sure they will be getting off the ground. We are just outside of ABQ and it is breathtakingly beautiful but still going strong. We have a flat roof too, not so great for this kind of snow! We have a tendency to lose power so I have a pot of soup going right now and making some bread, stuff I was suppose to do over Christmas time.

I probably won't be back for New Years but want you to all know I wish you the best. Hubby just came in and asked what I am doing so I am outta here!

            Love you all,
            Mary

                Saturday 30th December

Good morning or afternoon to you all! I missed most of December around here, but will be back big time in January!

I am trying out a new avatar, evertime I see Beth post, I think it's me. Yes, I am a blonde, if not in color right now, at least in spirit

Paul and Paula, sorry you both had a bad morning. Paul, sounds like you have a plan, good for you and Paula, I fight the morning drinking demon myself, so I know how hard that can be. Maybe some water and a nap if you can get it in. (I find Taco Bell helps too) Also, not that you guys haven't heard this already, but I have been singing the Hey Paula song since I read your post this morning. I need to break out my Animal House Sound Track and play the song to get it out of my mind.

Mary, sorry I missed your birthday and I know you are gone, but have a great New Year.

SM-Mary, did you get that trampoline put together yet? I was thinking about you as I was helping my son put a 400 piece Logo plane together.

Going to try out the new bike my youngest son got for Christmas today. We have a great break in the weather. It's sunny and mid 50's today. Yes, I know I'm rubbing it in.

                Later,
                Laura

                  Saturday 30th December

                  Hi everyone ~

Sounds like it was quite a night all around! I’ll be happy when the holidays are over. It seems SO long this year. And if I see another friggin’ cookie, I’ll just barf. I know I have allowed myself more liberties with the wine over the holidays than I cared to. I did OK, but still I feel like it was too much. I need to try for an extended AF period and I am hoping to get my thoughts together and make some positive resolutions for the year. I do have one already and that is to try to do things a month at a time. I find that when the new year starts, I have made all these resolutions and the “pressure is on.” And I usually end up failing. So I have decided to have a new resolution each month and build on month to month! May work, may not but I guess its worth a try.

Paula and Paul – Sorry to hear you are feeling yucky. Been there – done that – we all have! Just accept the lesson and move on. You guys are both doing super! Here’s to more AF days! Paul – Your plan for New Years sounds great – and you are right – half the battle is getting a plan together, so Bravo! Paula – I like your plan too – I wonder how much I would save – it may be frightening – but a good eyeopener.

Mojo – So good to see you again!

Seto – Welcome! I don’t know that there is any right way or wrong way to do this. RJ has a great program and you should give it a try. But I think the beauty of this is in its name “MY way out.” You will find your way and what works for you.

SM Mary – hope you are having a great day. National Hangover Day? Its probably true but a sad commentary on how things are….

Lucky – I love your new dress!

MM – Sounds like a nice day with your son. I do hope you are feeling better soon. I hope you got a good anti-biotic.

Precious – Enjoy the Keys and Happy New Year to you as well.

Lush – Hope you are well my friend!

Di – Ugh! I hope you are both feeling better soon. That really stinks. Maybe the fresh air will help – expel some of the germs outside the house!!

Fan – I’ll pick you up and we can drive to the Keys – better yet, lets fly. Its faster.

Mary Anne – We’ll collect you on the way and hit the Keys with Fan. I think I have to go AF for a while – the holidays have been a killer.

Judie – I like your New Years plan best – make $$. I think PP is going to have a gaggle of MWOers following her to the Keys…..

Mary – I hope your boys are able to get out tomorrow! But I have to say, the soup sounds wonderful. Hope you don’t lose your power.

                  Welcome back Laura!

Hawk-I'm with you on the cookies---candy too! Ready to get this train of a plan on the tracks!
                    Hope everyone is feeling better!

Laura---trampoline is coming along---you know my husband can't help because of the surgery---so I'm thinking---well, really, how hard can it be---had it up--kids were jumping on it--I kept wondering why the legs kept flopping apart---I was thinking, "stupid, cheap Wal-mart trampoline!" --than, I did see (MKR--you were right)...screws in the bottom of the box----who would know! and NO! I was not drinking!

SM, you are scaring me with not putting the trampoline together fully. Cheesh. I guess men are good for some things after all, aren't they? I am horrible at putting things together.

Laura, I am still waiting on the report from Hawaii. Was it wonderful? Did you post somewhere and I missed it? Do tell.

Hawk, hope you are doing well today and your arm is healing like it should. I like your idea of month to month goals. I think mine are going to be week to week. But I am, and it sounds like a lot of us here, are determined to really turn things around.

Oh and MKR e-mailed me as she is having slow computer problems but wanted me to tell everyone thank you for the kind birthday thoughts. I thought she had thanked everyone but she is so darn nice I guess she wanted to say thank you again!

Waves, hope you are having a better day today than the other day. Let us know how you are.

Jen, after you clean out your PM box so I can PM you you need to get back on the Once Upon A Time wagon. Time to ramp up some more funnies for the New Year.

Scrambling to wrap and shop for my daughter's birthday tomorrow. You all think you are sick of the holidays? I still have to shop and wrap; two things I hate. And I have to bake a cake. Yep, that is JUST what we need in our household. More white flour, refined sugar laden with butter icing.

                      Good Saturday to you all!!!

                          A. If we had an cold hard cash I would try and get away with it.
                          B. She will be 9 and I managed to find a couple of actually nice things at our local Dollar Tree.
                          C. No I am not white trash, they were actually things you would never know I got at the Dollar Tree.
                          D. I have hated malls since I was a baby. I would cry every time my mother would take me along shopping with her. Used to make her so mad.
                          E. I was cursed with a husband who honestly could shop all day long. Thankfully we do not make enough money to allow him that "luxury."
                          F. I am now out to the mall to buy a non-Dollar Tree gift. I would rather have a cavity filled without novocaine.

Stay home Hawk if you can. Please. I am begging you. Return them another day!!!

Pans, why did I not ask for gift suggestions from you weeks ago. OF COURSE I will get her another dog to drive me more nuts than the one I have. Thanks. And I know since SM-Mary has so much expertise in training dogs she will fly to Seattle and help me out. You guys are simply the BEST!!!

                                Greetings, all!

I just had the pleasure of speaking with Tumadre by phone. She had given me her phone number in case I ran into any trouble while I was in her neck of the woods. Tumadre is warm and wise just like one would expect from her posts.

Mojo--so glad to see you back! I'm always wondering about where you are and how you're doing.

Laura--I've been wondering about you, too. Welcome back!

MKR Mary,Paula and Paul--I was bad, too. I had four glasses of wine yesterday. It's not the amount that troubles me, but rather the fact that two of the glasses were drunk when I was feeling mildly perturbed. I've got to develop a thicker skin. Something upset me yesterday that probably wouldn't upset almost anyone else. Then my husband did something mildly annoying and I responded by drinking the two extra glasses of wine. I do have some cold/flu thing going on and I think I'm a little regressed because of that, but still . . . Monica, like you, my colds so often turn into pneumonia. It is so frustrating!

Seto--Welcome! Hope to see you around here more.

                                Pinot--Have lots of fun!

DiLayne--Hey, smiley face! Hope you're feeling much better soon!

Oh, and computers. Mary could you (or anyone else) explain to me how to remove evidence of my visits from my brother-in-law's computer? YIKES!

I wish everyone a joyous day!

                                E
