New Year's Eve
I am going to the Eagles-Falcons game which begins at 415 pm. By the time we get back from the game it will be around 8-830 ao we will just grab dinner at this Italian place near home. We have a party invite but quite honsetly, I'd rather just go home. I don't want to be in a party atmosphere and be tempted. I know I'll have a glass or two of wine with dinner and maybe a beer at the game, but that's all. I'm sticking to that plan. I just do not want to start a new year feeling like garbage.Hawk

New Year's Eve
Great idea to start the new year off positively, sounds like you have the determination to carry that through without too many probs
My friends are going to some big party and bought me an (expensive) ticket without asking so I'll be going to that with three goals. 1. Not to get arrested 2. Not to drink the next morning 3. To get home asap.

New Year's Eve
We are having dinner at a local restaurant with 2 other couples. I will be the only one not drinking and there wll be pressure for me to drink, but I don't want to at all. Why would I? I don't intend to drink in 2007 or beyond so what will this one night do?
One thing is for sure I don't want to wake up with that wine taste in my mouth or wonder what I said or did, get angry or make embarassing heart felt speeches that nooone wanted to listen to the first time round - let alone the fourth!! I don't want to fall over, get into an argument, keep filling my glass at twice the rate of anyone else, switch to red and end up with very attractive purple teeth and lips - hey, you know you wanna give me a kiss, right??? I don't want to wonder how did I get those bruises or tell anyone else my shit life story they didn't want to hear, especially on a festive night.
No, this year I want to welcome in the year with a few people I care about and do them the courtesy of making it about all of us, not about me and the bottle and 'what is she going to do next?'
Cant' wait,
Louie

New Year's Eve
Going large with local pub. Close family and friends so not the same as the dangerous London scene but expect to feel a little rough in the new year.
Been good for 6 weeks so will be interesting. I know the "reward" night is a dangerous one so will be aware of the pitfalls. Good luck all!

New Year's Eve
Hawk, would love that excuse but restaurant is literally metres away at the end of the street - that's why we chose it.
Seeing as I have rather a large amount of weight to lose I will use that as an excuse.
Luckily, one of the diners is a very well known ex tennis player (american) whom is very health conscious and drinks very little. So that should help.
Everyone have a great one and will post tomorrow, and for those who do indulge, please be safe and don't beat yourself up.

Rats Louie! Designated walker? There are other people drinking and driving - you can march them home out of the way of traffic! Then there is the old reliable "I am taking anti-biotics" -- no one usually wants more details.....Hawk

New Year's Eve
I am going to have a small amount of wine to say goodbye to my habit. I was good on abs, but was getting sloppy and will go for at least 30 days straight again. I will be on chat tonight (no crazy parties for me), but go to bed pretty early.
Tomorrow I will work from home since I have meetings all next week and I am very stressed (not like my usual laid back self - okay no comments from peanut gallery). So stressed hard to breathe when I think about it ... breathe breathe. Really I am okay, booze will not help.Working on this will.
I have TV in my office to watch Wolverine beat Trojans - that is only game with meaning for me. Sigh, they better not lose if I am wearing lucky sweatshirt. Family will be very upset that I am not going to watch game there ... oh well. They do not have printer or computer that does not say ... X86 with freaking c>: on it.
I hope all have good new year's eve or new year's day.
Hugs,
Pansy

New Year's Eve
Hi All
My plans are a quiet one with family, who all know about my problems with the drink, I'll be moderating, and when the clock chimes midnight I'm AF for January, I've slipped back quite badly recently so I'm looking forward to feeling better without it.
Take care all, Happy New Year, Lots of love & Hugs, Paula xx:l :l :lsigpicXXX

New Year's Eve
I'll be doing the "marathon fast walk" while throwing food @ people... with a bit of stand -up comedy on the side! (waitressing ) Till about 10:00, then head home to break in New Year, "Rolling in my Sweet Baby's Arms":armsaround: :l
I wore my new pedometer last nite @ work, it was pretty busy for a few hours. By the end of the night I'd walked 7 miles, from 4:00 till 9o. I can just imagine what those really busy summer nights must be when I work the 1:00 to 10:00 shift w/a waiting line the whole time must be! No wonder I get so mean!:damn:The only thing worth stealing is a kiss...:flower: zwink:

New Year's Eve
7 Miles Jude???? That is something. You don't need any other exercise.
I am hungover today. Plain and simple. Hate myself and hate that I do this over and over again. I am scared to make promises I do not think I can keep but I am stronger than my craving brain, right? I am determined to make a concerted effort to have many, many AF days in January. I am going to exercise much more and I am going to get out of my dumb habit. No more wine in the house so it will not be an option unless I decide to have a couple and then it will be only small bottles.
You all mean the world to me. Without you I would be spiraling out of control. Be well my lovely muffins. I will be downtown watching fireworks at midnight as that is what my daughter has requested to do for her birthday. Can someone please come take my place???
A big group hug to all!!!!I'm really easy to get along with once people learn to worship me
