New Year's Eve

Hi!

I have been gone for a couple of days and now I'm home. My husband and I are working together tonight. We should make at least $500 between us tonight:yougo:

I taliked to my husband last night about going totally AF. He is in support of it. I am going to wait until we have some insurance and then go to a doctor and get antibuse. I need all the help I can get.

I have tried moderation, and I'm doing better, but still rely on alcohol to realx and enjoy anything. My plan is to go AF for 6months to a year and then decide weather I want to drink occasionally. I just can't have alcohol in the house or give myself permision to drink everyday.

Until then I'll still be here in moderation!

Oooooh Lush, sorry to hear that. I can't tell you how many times I've had that voice of self loathing in my ear... Don't beat yourself up though. Just gotta get back on that horse. Here's a quote I like. Hope you do too.

New Year's Eve

believe it or not, I am waiting for my cell phone to ring in my hotel room in Orlando Florida. Allie and her husband are coming and I will be meeting her in person for the very first time. Actually, first time I am meeting anyone from this site!! They are staying at a nearby hotel, but we will be spending the New Years eve. together. Just going out to dinner, and hanging in our hotel lobby which is AMAZING (understatement). Ice sculptures, shops, alligators, you name it...so..It should be fun. No wild parties...very mild. But I am really excited to get to meet Allie in person!!

I will be home Monday, and look for you all then. If I can I will try to get on here before then though. I wish all of you a good New Years!! I think so many of us are ready to put energy into a healthier new year..I am in that frame of mind as well.

Have you read about all of the side effects of antibuse? I have some in my cupboard, but after reading about it, chickened out on taking it. I thought it sounded worse than the beer I was drinking ... Just my $.02

Good luck with that. I've heard some people have had success with it though.

Lush, sorry about the ?hurt? today, it seems to be the time of the year for it. About the exercise, I could use a buddy. I have a plan to get rid of the squishy by the big 40 and if you want to join me, that would be great.

Judy, the pedometer really puts your shoe purchases in perspective, now you have a good reason to get new shoes faster. It works for me.

I will spend tonight having my 8th annual Champagne Monty Python Movie Night. I have a plan this year for managing the champagne for the 1st time ever. (I hope) We started this after our son was born and it is always a good time. The kids all head to bed or play games in the other room and then we vote on our favorite Python Movie. The Holy Grail usually wins out, but not always. Our guests bring a favorite comedy and then we pick from one of those as well.

Yeah! A Monty Python fan! I'm not at the quoting level, however, except for the rare sayings left over from my childhood..."And a baby's arm holding an apple"..."Run Away"...I'm afraid I'll have to brush up...:licked:

I'm on call tonight. So that's gonna keep me sober. Watching the Broncos try to beat SF right now! I've been doing well not drinking more than two drinks at a time since Christmas. It is such a good feeling!

Have a safe night everyone, remember how good you will feel tomorrow if you keep it under control. Someone here said something good I like to remember - "Drunk is ugly".

One new years eve a few years back one of my friends had a video camera at the party. Anyone else had this happen? So embarrassing to watch the next day! Everyone watching it was just laughing at me while I tried to hide in the corner. UGLY.

Happy New Year to all of my pals!

I'm still in SF, having a tame New Year with my inlaws and some friends from back home. Someone else is bringing most of the food so all I have to do is help make the place look festive and clean up spills. I'm already a little bit drunk and not even on wine. Cough syrup, if you would believe. I'm trying to knock myself into a noncoughing semi-stupor so that no one picks up whatever I have.

Tomorrow, I will be calling Tumadre who has so kindly offered to help me clean this computer of evidence of my ramblings. Then I'll be hopping a late plane back to NYC and patients, patients, patients a few hours after I arrive. I so wish that I could sleep on planes. I can only fall asleep if I'm completely recumbant and that's out of the question given that I'll be traveling steerage.

I hope that everyone has a joyous New Year.
