    Friday january 12th

    Hey Judie,
winter driving is the pits. We, here in Ontario, are used to it for the most part. Yet, I have to adjust my heavy foot every year anew, when the first snow fall appeared. You Oregonians probably don't even have winter tires on you cars. Take it easy and don't ever be in a hurry or you'll end up in the ditch, like me last year and I wan't going that fast. I just hit a spot of black ice and whooooooooiiiii, the car took on a life of its' own.
I was lucky. Some guy came along, who looked like the Unibomber and hooked me up and pulled me out. There wasn't even any damage on my car and he wouldn't take any money either.

      Hey Lori
I am in Ontario too. I'm sorry - where is Sugar Maple Lane? I am just outside Toronto - Markham area-ish.

Hubby was funny yesterday when I was leaving the house, for work it was still snowing pretty hard. He says, "Keep it in 4 wheel drive & go really slow, please"...

I lived in Colorado at 9000 feet elev, for 20 years... I have driven in the snow a FEW times... I used to have to ski to work.
But after being back here for 8 years, I'm a bit rusty with it!

Di, I know what ya mean about gettin glued to this thing! It is an addiction!

              Hi all,
I wanted to say hi before leaving for the day. I still do not have a plan for my weekend and that is not a good thing for me. I love my stay at home days, but my control is just not there right now. I made my 4 AF days this week and will try for 3 again next week.

Lush and I had a talk about Monday being the "Day" If you can get through Monday, it is easier to get a couple of AF days in. Do any of you feel that way too?

Sorry I cannot talk to everyone today. Some smart person out there made a mention about Passport and we are renewing ours and getting them for the kids today. So I have to go.

Fan. I'm getting worried too. My thoughts are with you.

                Friday january 12th

                Good afternoon!
Brrr! It's cold here (we're so spoiled here, at 45 degrees we think we're gonna freeze over). Just checking in. Paula-thanks for the reminder on water! Goal today is to drink more (water, that is:H ). My husband just started a new job, and this afternoon he's going to the going-away party for the person he's replacing, and to welcome him. It's in a bar. I decided not to go, and he said he's not going to stay long. In the old days, we would have gone and stayed way too long, "getting to know" everyone. Not a good way to start out with the group, all "I love you, man" to people I've just met.:day4: :blah:
I do have to admit that the other reason I'm not going is because of my weight. I'm so self-conscious about it, and I start thinking that they're thinking: 1) Wow, she'd be pretty if she lost 30 lbs. 2) Hmm, thought his wife would be better looking, AND (in my husband's head) 3) That new co-worker looks really hot compared to my wife, now that they're side-by-side.
So much easier to drink, cause it'd quiet those voices and let my "true" personality to show, and then they'd see how smart, witty, etc. I am. What a fool!

Ditto computer addiction Judie and Dilayne!! Even before this site, my work load is all about the computer 24/7 it seems!

Judie, please be really careful - we have been going through the same thing over here. No plows, snow tires even people who can drive in the snow are few and far between. We have another snow storm coming in this weekend. . . Can't wait as we now have mucky wet mud to try and drive thorugh to get to my house. Slipping and sliding yesterday I was thinking it might be better to be stuck in the ice and snow on my road as the mud is sure to suck me in like quicksand first step out of the stranded car!

                  thinking of you wishing snowshoes!

Paula - WOW! WOW! WOW! GOOD FOR YOU!!

TuMadre dear, don't even go there. Do you know how much we all look forward to your posts and how incredible you are. It isn't all about the packaging. Thinner women have more wrinkles to fight!! How's that one!!

Laura, the Universe mentioned passports so it is good you are getting them. You can always make a fly by the seat of your pants plan! You can do this girl!

                    Love you both,
                    Mary

Tumadre, there is no negative self talk allowed in mod muffin land, do you hear me? But I can say I have put on a full 10 pounds in two months and it is making me crawl out of my skin so I do understand. If you did not trust yourself tonight then it was probably the safest choice. It is amazing how witty and charming we can be after a few drinks, and then I can never figure out why people avoid me the next time I see them? Congratulations on your husband getting a new job.

Yes, Laura I have been thinking about our Monday revelation all day. Why is it that if we get through Monday without anything we can do the next 2-3 days just fine? I think it is the defeatest diet mentality where we think, "I have already blown this week so what is the point?" That's crazy. No more. We need to change that. Hope you are well this weekend.

and yes, my MWO addiction needs to be moderated along with my drinking. I am getting little done and I am soon on my way to being Super Senior Member. If there is such a title you can bet your butt I will be the first one there.

Judie, we have the exact same conditions as you. I, however, being a woman am a very good driver and I had to wait for THREE carloads of men this afternoon while they backed up on a street because they could not get up the mild incline in their cars. I sailed right by and gave a great big wave!!!! Be safe driving, especially at night.

                      Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

Hey, Lush! Pretty funny when you ban me from negative self-talk, then proceed to bad-talk yourself!:hitme:
Mary, thank you. That's what I tell myself when I start thinking about crash diets...the wrinkles!:argh:
Ideally, I'd lose the weight, tone up, then plastic surgery myself so I'd look FABULOUS:egad:

This site is definitely an addiction. And right now it's keeping me from having a beer, which sounds SO good right now. Not even sure why, cause it's freezing out. But I have a carnitas burrito, and ya gotta have beer with that, no matter what time of the day, right?

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE, YOU MUFFINS!!!
                        Love, Tumadre

                          agree

I agree w/ the food substitution thing, cuz I do it too..............actually when I drink I eat alot too!! Feel an extra 10 lbs on me too (probably mostly water weight? )...hopefully!

I am proud of everyone who is going AF and doing well, will be there soon, and :thanks: to all with the positive thoughts, just having a pitty party on my weight, drinking schedule etc......... I love you all and get soooooo much out of reading, haven't done it enough lately, but with a little more time on my hands (if THAT will ever happen!?) I will look forward to more exposure to the crowd!!

Love to all,:h even FAN....hope you are well......know how it is to not be in touch, come back though! We all care!

                          HUGS to all also:l

                            Hey Jenneh,
I am from a well known tourist area. If you are looking for Sugar Maple Lane, you just keep going north from Markham for about 100 kilometers. When you come to a fork in the road hang right and go down that road and you will see a sign that says Sugar Maple Lane, keep going, keep going, keep going all the way to the end, where all the big old Maple trees line both sides of the lane. Last house on the right, yah, you've got it.
The area is commonly known as the "sticks". Let me just take that pie out of the oven.
                            Welcome to my house Jenneh.
                            Love Lori.
