    Sunday 14th January

Ey Up!! This is becoming a habit - starting the morning thread again! Well, old Baldrick's plan seemed to work (for a change - as Blackadder fans will know, he usually ends up marrying a turnip or something:H !) I had another "nice" bottle of Chardonnay - again it lasted for hours and went to bed without even thinking about having any more, which I couldn't cause there wasn't any!! My hubby drinks red wine and his "nice" bottle is still in the kitchen unopened - I detest red wine, so no problem there!!!

Sun is shining and I plan a relaxing day, shoulder of lamb for dinner with some good wholesome veg and not so wholesome Yorkie pud (but scrummy nonetheless!) No more wine until next Sat - Laura, I never helped anyone with a plan before - I am totally chuffed!! Perhaps my natural stubborn streak is helping me here, I am so determined to stick to this :thanks: to you guys!

    Happy Sunday, modders!!:goodjob:

          Time zones and Yorkies!

Hi Rachele! I posted at 9:44 am UK time :H !! Okay, Yorkie pud - actually called Yorkshire Pudding, it is made of batter (flour, eggs and water) and baked in the oven until it rises into a gorgeous puffball of calories and cholesterol!! You have it with meat and veg and of course loads of gravy poured over,:licked: However, I must admit I cheat at Yorkies and use good old Auntie Bessies (UK folks will know that one as well - so, on tonight's dinner menu is:-

Roast lamb with garlic, rosemary and mint
          Roasted potatoes
          Mashed potatoes
Brocolli (gently steamed, not all boiled to mush!)
          Roasted, honey glazed parsnips
          Yorkshire puddings
Topped off with lashings of lamb gravy with a hint of mint

How soon can you get here??!!!

Ooh - apologies to any vegetarians out there:yuk: LOL!!

          Love from The Terror
PS - I've got a wee old Yorkshire Terrier as well, but that's a dog, just to confuse you further, Rachele!

Wow! Last night my husband made beef stew, which is his cold-weather comfort food. It was really good, and it will be better today. Boy, the yorkshire pudding sounds like it would really freshen up the beef stew. Maybe I should get out the old cookbook. Cornbread would be nice as well. Last night, I had two glasses of red wine, and I didn't finish the second one. No buzz at all. I generally do better by trying to avoid chardonnay entirely. It totally sets off wanting more. There's a little bit of freezing rain here, and you'd think we were in the middle of the Denver blizzard. People are filling their bathtubs with water, the the tv stations are treating it like a national crisis.

Good morning, mods. Have a warm and happy day!
I wish E would come back. I've really been worried about her.

                  Smart girl!!

Well, you've got it over on me, Paula, you got someone else to do the cooking and the washing up as well!! My hubby is working today, so Sunday lunch becomes Sunday dinner (I am such a snob, I hate it when people say "dinner" when they mean lunch - dinner is in the evening, dontcha know, old bean!!!) Must be my superior Scottish education - LOL!! By the way, grand job on day 14 - :yougo: you are an inspiration - bet you've burped a bit though with all the diet coke - sorry :nanner:

Maybe I'll be able to sample some of the grand UK food this summer. I've applied for a job as dean of students for the Oxbridge program for 3 weeks. It sounds like a fairly exhausting job, but I'd get paid and get free transportation there and room and board.

Where will you be based, Fsophiah? Oxford or Cambridge? I've not been to Oxford, but I have been to Cambridge - it is gorgeous, set on the river and the architecture is stunning - go for it - sounds like a great opportunity! Good luck with the application.

                              Morning All,

Rachele, I believe you got it wrong. Paula was following ME everywhere on the boards yesterday. If I did not find it so funny I would have smacked her! And I must say to anyone looking for a great comfort food meal check out Rachele's Encherritos recipe in the recipe corner. The first thing my husband said to me this morning was "that dinner was so good last night."

Finally got my house cleaned yesterday. I feel such a weight off my shoulders and I can actually walk around my house and like what I am looking at. Drank some wine to help with the cleaning but it really just made me more tired. Lesson learned.

Going to watch the Seahawks this morning. Hopefully they will win. Good Happy Sunday to all of you and all of those to still come....................xo
