    Weds 17th January

Good morning all - hope everyone is okay today. Just wanted to say to Owly, please don't put off your medical checks, if everything is okay then it sets your mind at rest, if things need looking after, then the sooner you get treatment the better - okay, Mother has finished nagging, sorry!! Intrigued by your business Owly (actually just a nosy wee ferret!!) Something to do with "e-commerce" - some kind of online malarkey? Anyway, hope today is better.

Still AF during week and moderating at weekend - Baldrick's cunning plan still working, but can't get too complacent. Watched an old episode of Sex and The City last night, they went to somewhere called Atlantic City - thought I'd seen every episode, but must have missed that one - made me think of Las Vegas where Allie has gone - bet it's nothing like that - oh, I am a sad wee small town ferret:H

Again, happy Weds to to all!:h

    Morning all too.
Agree with the little ferret, Owly, get things checked out. If you're anything like me, you make yourself worse worrying about it. Actually knowing, even if there are problems, means you can get a plan in place get some treatment and start getting better. Afterall, 29 is NOTHING ! believe me.

What a crap*y day here, pouring with rain, grey, miserable, have had to walk the dogs once already and we all got soaked. It's been raining for about 3 months I think, and we still have a hosepipe ban..what's that all about then?

This afternoon, I will meet up with my NCT group (Childbirth thing). It means, 5 x 3year olds, + 3 x 1-2 year olds all in one house ( Not mine fortunately, I subscribe to the CHAOS theory..Can't Have Anyone Over...as my house is tiny and full of dogs and mud at the minute). This meeting was always a useful excuse for a drink afterwards, it's such carnage that you get home and immediately pour a drink to calm down and relax.

Not tonight. My reward should be that my little boy enjoys himself enormously and loves to see his friends. So I'll just get on with dinner and have a bath (maybe finish my serial killer novel ...reading one not writing one the Scottish Policeman did it !!).

    have good days Mods

      Good morning all
Cold here..4 degrees this morning. The chaos of the day continues with trucking the kids a half and hour to preschool and baby was up about 6 times last nights. What's up with that. Thankfully I didn't drink so don't feel like a slug today.
Trying out a stint of abs again so we shall see how it goes. Need to get organized with life too so this should help.
Hope you all have a happy Hump Day.

SNOW DAY!!!!! No school! I don't even mind that I'm so excited I can't get back to sleep. And because it's the very beginning of the semester, I've done my report cards, I have no grading to do, I'm free! I'm free!

Plus, it's such a thrill to be enshrining the male member! As a matter of fact, I think we need to bow down to the male member! Reminds me of totem poles, the Washington monument, etc.

BTW, I'm looking at my post, and my ball is red. What does that mean? And MM, thanks for your homage to teachers. I get kind of uncomfortable when people get all mushy about teachers because I often think that's a way of making us saints instead of working professionals. In other words, people give us halos instead of cold, hard cash. Not that you are doing that. Actually, I often wonder what my life would be like if I had done something else, or I fantasize about being a mover and shaker in the world. Then, I have days like yesterday when I have the thrill of teaching Hamlet to my regular seniors and Donne's "A Valediction Forbidding Mourning" to my APs, and I can't imagine being excited by anything else.

AF yesterday. When I do it, it seems so easy.

Red ball=no one knows you are on line. You are invisible. I think I got the balls right now. Green Ball means that others can see that you are actively on line.

Good Morning Everybody!!! WOW!!! So much going on!! If we could harness the energy in this group, we wouldn't have to worry about the depletion of oil!!

Congratulations Dilayne!!! Great Job!! You too Tartenterror!!! And Pebbles!!! WOWEE!!!!

Owly, I think you have gotten some good advice here. And it sounds like you are doing well with your drinking goals. The earlier you start the repair of your body, the less damage you will do, and the more likely you will be able to return to the healthy person you aspire to be. Don't be depressed about the damage that has occurred, modern science is marvelous!! If caught early enough, they actually can repair cellular level damage with diet, exercise, and treatment. So, if you get on board now, you may be able to stop and repair the damage. So, in addition to the peace of mind, getting on this now may not only save your life, but improve the quality as well.

Tamadre, you are so sweet! I meant every word!!

Sophia, I agree with you that many people and many institutions do not seem to equate the value of teachers to the bottom line of their paychecks -- and I think it is disgusting. It also seems no matter how many times we take this issue to our State legislature, the little bit of increase we get for our teachers does not keep up with others. Even though the teachers at my son's school are paid very well, I still think they work harder than most other occupations, which is why I do things like the faculty luncheons and send in goodies and stuff like that. Its not much, but nothing is more important to me in this world than the care, nurture, and development of my son! And I owe a large part of that to his school system and everyone in it. OK, now I'll get off my soap box. I just want you, Tumadre, and every other person who works with our youth to know with security just how special you are -- "your top draw" in my book. (I don't have Jen's talents to do a banner or a sexy cheerleader)

Also, Sophia, did you see my message to you the other day about the education grants at the Foundation Center. They have grants that pay for teacher's trips and other bonus grants that may boost your income. For example, you can get a stippends grant to serve on a Board as an education expert, which requires very little time. If your interested in more information, just PM me.

Alright, Mike, phallicism!!! Is this a word you use with the jury when you don't want them to hear anything else you have to say??? -- remind me never to play Scrabble with you!!!

                  Lots of love to all,
                  Monica

Just a quick hello to all you muffins.
It is freezing here in Ontario (4 deg. F.), but the sky is blue and the snow is clean and sparkles in the sunlight. Glad you are all doing so well and are in such good spirits.
Really should be getting on with things.
Ah terror, this little flower is stuck in a wee village as well, but I look on the bright side. When I go for a walk I have miles and miles of walking trails all to meeself. I only have to share them with the odd goose, skunk, duck or the occasional racoon. That's fine with me. As we do not have a lot of snow, the stinking snowmobiles have not arrive yet.
                    Love you all,
                    Lori

                      Good morning all!
As usual I am procrastinating big time on doing my work. Sigh - my work is just so boring to me - I really am just passing the time away and trying to get home as soon as possible. I find absolutely zero fulfilment whatsoever at all in my work. Guess I should be getting my butt in gear to be getting something else but its almost like being comfortable keeps my butt glued to this chair. I need a big kick in the butt for goodness sakes! Sigh, I dont want my professional life to pass me by and then suddenly I turn around and say "what happened? Where did the time go?"....but already I am doing that....does anyone relate.....?
I am still feeling strong on the AF during the weekdays...thank goodness, no strong cravings like last week. I think the strong cravings might have had something to do with the fact that I was also feeling some anxiety last week too....I picked up the book "Smashed" last night....I know, it sounded depressing and alll, but I had to read it!
Anyways, i would address you all but I really have to run to a meeting - but I love you love you love you all!!!!!
                      Love Jenneh!
                      Over 4 months AF :h

Yep, I am with you on the job front Jenneh. How else do you think I a made Sr. Member in record time?

Sounds like everyone is so upbeat and reaching their goals in mods land this week. I need all the inspiration I can get right now.

So, who is going to start another silly thread that I can obsess about all day long and get yet another day of no work under my belt? Anyone?

                        Happy Hump Day!!!

                          Good Morning Muffies!
Yes, Snow Day here--I'm in TX with Sophia...who by the way, does a tremendous amount more grading than I do! But I must agree, when I'm doing a lesson and I'm hangover free and it's amazing -- it's where I want to be and I can't picture myself doing anything else. BTW-Tumadre--Homeschooling, in my opinion, is much more difficult than classroom teaching--I bow down to you!
Hope everyone is having a great day----stay warm..or cool... depending!
                          Love to all

Jen--thanks for picking up that book! Can't wait to see what you think about it! There are parts of that book that have continued to stick in my mind that have really seemed to help me understand this drinking issue!
I have just started Dry--very good so far.
