I must admit, after living in my treehouse all of those 18 years... I do miss splitting wood sometimes... especially when I'm mad! I used to get a lot of kindling split at those times!
Don't miss carrying the water too much... that stuff's heavy! I sure was in great shape tho!

Hey, how do like my new avatar? It's a picture I took when we were in Vegas last August. Taken at the Mirage, Secret Garden Dolphin Habitat. One of the hi-lights of the trip for me! I must have taken about 50 dolphin photos!

MM hang in there girl! Cry, get it out, wash your face and move on. You are allowed to go back to the crying if need be after the radio show. I know you'll be fine.

Lush, I still have more bills that I have to take of as well....yuck...

and truth be told...I love to do laundry as well..love the smell, the warmth, the mindlessness of it all....

Allie, that's great news about your meds....pass me some as well...or I'll just place my order with Pixie!

Anyway, my day has been very eventfull to say the least...I came in this morning to my f*in laptop in my office being stolen! I am using a loaner one now. I am so mad...I had a ton of personal information and pictures in there...plus this site in favorites...if they log on, they will automatically be logged on as me!

Thank God I back up often so some stuff was lost but,not much! I am actually very fortunate as it could have been way, way worse. They did not steal my printer, other computers, cell phones left charging, and four 15 passanger vans with the keys to them nicely lined up. So, I guess I have to consider myself lucky that my wake up call for better security was just two laptops...Anyway...now I really have to get to work as I have been with a police officer for the first half of my day......

Hi all!!

Haven't posted much recently, so thought I would check in.

Monica, I am sorry you are having a rough day. You are usually so up-beat and optomistic. This too will pass, but it will pass MUCH smoother if you don't give in to that desire to drink!! Just come here and let us all support you, as you have done for us so many times!!

Laundry...yikes. I too take the clothes out of the dryer quickly because I DON'T IRON-EVER!!! I hate it with a passion!!! The toughest thing about laundry was letting go of my control and letting my daughter do her own...I had a system going where by she could buy her shirts in that smaller size than I would like but I would NEVER put them in the dryer...thereby solving that little problem of the sexy clothes...now, I have lost that little trick. Grumph!

Life in my little world is basically ok. My niece is still in the hospital...we are still hoping all is ok, and the issues are surgery related and not her cancer, but she still has some side pain and nausea so....we will see. I will keep you posted, as promised. All else is status quo, however. Happy it is Friday. Really don't care much about the game on Sunday. I am not much into football...unless of course it is the Florida GATORS!!! RA RA SIS BOOM BA (gotta do the "Gator mom" thing now)....

Hope all is well in all your little worlds as well.

Allie, glad to hear you are still doing well on the Lexipro...don't shrink to nothing though...or get dehydrated!!

I want to give hugs too!! It has been such a busy week for me! I'm so glad it's Colorful Friday!
I hate laundry and I only iron the parts of the clothes that will actually show. Like the front if a sweater is going to be worn over it. Easier that way.

Beth, your niece is in my prayers.
I'm home quickly from school, have to go back shortly, but I was talking to another teacher and she was telling me how she is part of this on-line Coffee Club and they discuss coffee and how she thinks she drinks too much. At first I thought she was using "coffee" as a code word for alcohol, but as the conversation continues, I realized she was truly talking about coffee because she was saying that caffiene makes her blood pressure too high and she might have to cut back and just drink coffee every other day and she was all depressed about it. Hmmmmmmmm...........if she only knew. I guess I could have really shook her up and told her what sight I belonged to.

My husband does the laundry. Every day. I'm pretty sure he has OCD. And I like it.

Everyone is changing avatars. Maybe I'll consider it, but it'll have to be something wicked cool. I'm open for suggestions.

MKR, it sounds as though your friend had a fine send-off. Speaking of funerals, Rachele's post for Kanga day made me cry.

Allie, you sound like your old self. Welcome back.

PP, one wonders how one survives the loss of a laptop, but Virginia Woolf said that when her London flat was bombed in the blitz, she felt a sense of freedom. Of course, she drowned herself not long after.

Monica, it's good know you're human. You just run, run, run, like a little mighty mouse, and then BAM! I think heaven will reward you for your compassion, and by heaven, I mean goodness in this lifetime. As everyone has said, you have a generous spirit.

Hooray for Friday. I'm not watching the super bowl. I think I'll go to a movie that I wouldn't be able to get into otherwise. Last week, we saw "Letters from Iwo Jima." It was one of those movies like "Schindler's List" that everyone should see...once. An instant classic.

I have a telephone interview for the Oxbridge position on Tuesday morning. I can't go to Sienna because if you have done an NEH program within the previous three years, you go to the bottom of the list, and I did one at Columbia in 2004. I'm just not sure I want to be a caretaker for a bunch of teenagers for three weeks. I do that all year as it is.
