It's 10 degrees here and windier than all get out. It's so windy I've lost the satellite a couple of times. That BETTER NOT happen tomorrow!

Thanks for all the advice for the hangover. I'm feeling a little bit better.....I'm just waiting for an acceptable time to pluck the hair of the dog that's really the only thing that will work.....I'm just going to have to be more careful tonight. I have to be at church at 8 am for my six year old to sing and we're going out to dinner with friends!

Judie, I'm really pissed off at the place I work right now. You are not going to believe the new RULE they have come up with.......we were already tipping the kitchen 1% the bar 4 % and tipping the back ups 10% of our take home. That was already a really hefty tip out.

Well one of the back ups complained and now we have to tip the kitchen 1.5% the bar 3.5% and get this.......we have to tip the back ups 28% of our 8% which is 14 % of our sales for a total of a 19% overall tip out!

It's a good thing I only work there on Monday night and every other Saturday or I'd have to find another job.....maybe I should anyway. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rr

Afternoon all!! I now have a sick child at home and thankfully it is raining so I think it will be a lazy day watching movies on the couch.

Fan, you must have a lot of underwear if you can only be thinking about thinking about doing laundry.

Rachele, I did not understand a thing you said about tips because I am mathematically challenged. But you sound upset about it, so I am upset too.

Hey Lush, good to see you - sorry your baby is sick. Been going around your house heh?

Yes, send money and a guy to fix this stupid register - in the office. We have 4 office suites on this one zone and out of the whole complex our group is either freezing or boiling. Got in and the register for the night had been placed at 63 degrees, I mean this is locked in my office so the owner is in here screwing around with it?

we have scandinavian friends who think that if the house is more than 63 degrees it is "UNBEARABLY HOT". They are totally aclimatized to this temperature. I remember that at that time we regulated our internal temperature with a lot of Aquavit.
Today I simply arrive with some extra woolies on me bod.
Perhaps you could bring a sleeping bag to work, they might get the message.

Rachele, we don't really have a set tipping policy at the cafe. I tend to tip more than a lot of the girls, just because I've worked all aspects of the industry since I was a kid... started as a dishwasher at age 13... (a few years back...)
But in the winter when it's slower, most of the other girls don't tip the kitchen or dishwashers at all. I can't just not tip. Even if it's just $2 each, it's something. I live on tips, so I don't feel right about not "spreading the wealth"... I consider it tipping karma.

But I have worked in plenty of places where they take it off of the top of your tips automatically. I don't like that at all. Not everyone makes the same percentages... as I'm sure you know!

Hi again all

just a quick "hi"

still waiting and hoping to hear better news about my niece...she is home, but...still not doing well...if she doesn't get some liquids in her, she isn't gonna stay home...so I don't know what will be. My sister is so scared about why she feels so sick...she didn't feel this way before this surgery to take out her spleen so she shouldnt be feeling this way now. Gosh, I just realized this makes little sense to most of you. Anyway, we don't understand why she is still feeling sick. Bottom line, if she doesn't drink...she will end up back in hospital. why she can't eat or drink??? We don't know...Ughhhh!!! OK. Promised I would keep you all up to date.. so I am.

Drinking wise, I have to be honest, as I haven't really mentioned it much here...I have not been great. Actually, I have been pretty bad. Not sloppy drunk, beat up my husband, yell at my kids kind of stuff...but...I have been drinking way too much for my own acceptable level, on a nightly basis, for way too long..just the thing I came to this place for in the first place. So, that is my admission. I am not sure what to do at this point...I have had the strangest dreams about it!!! I am sure because it is on my mind...but so weird I can't even begin to put them into words!!! I find I am functional but my memory when drinking is appalling (spelling?). I only drink in the evening, thank God, because I don't know how I could function well if I drank during the day...

Wow...so much for a quick Hi...so do I hit the submit button??? I guess if you see this I did...
