    tips to moderate

hello I will have been af for 28 days friday.
saturday I'm going out and going to try to moderate, do you have any tips on how to do this?
Tried before and failed but feel mroe committed this time and will have 28 days under my belt.
l plan to go af again until partner's birthday week later, then af again until mine beginning april.

Any tips at all very gratefully received, what has worked for you etc.
I feel good now physically and mentally so don't want to spoil that.
I 've managed to stop smoking too and also am losing weight/exercising regularly as I'm not hungover.
I have only had 1 takeaway since being af - before would have had about 4 by this point.
I never planned to never drink again but now am nervous about it but feel I have to try to find out if I can or not.
    anyway help please!!

    Drink lots of water
Don't start to drink alc straight away.
    Sip not slurp
Set a limit before you go out and stick to it.
keep control of your glass ( don't let others decide for you/pour for you)

    Good luck:l

Yes...all good advice...also if you are on supps, take extra kudzu or Gluc
Sometimes I wonder...."Why is that frisbee getting bigger?"...and then it hits me.

Congrats Bear!! and on the smoking too! that is awesome.

Great advise above, the only other thing I would do is make sure I had eaten well first.

Bear, are you sure you really want to do this? All of your posts you state you are nervous and unsure. History of an alcoholic proves that most go back to the way they were or worse. The high from the buzz typically draws the person back in. I am not trying to deter you of your plans, so please do not take offense. It is so good to see you at this point on your AF journey.

You seem to be self doubting yourself. My two cents, is to not do it.... you say some real positive things about yourself now and that is from not drinking. I don't know you, so obviously my opinion really doesn't make anything or break anything. But I have seen you come so far, and would like to see you go even farther.

                Hi Bear,

It is helpful to have water within reach at all times. I know when I don't have an alternate drink in front of me, I reach for the alcohol out of habit.

Drink something already measured like beer or wine coolers pick a number to drink and stick to it.

                I hope it helps:l
