Sunflower's Drinking Diary. The first steps.
Sunflower,
:welcome:
Please read around on the different forums and threads. If you truly wish to try moderating, go to that forum and start reading. Some people have been very successful with it. Many not. But, this is a starting point for you and a good place.
Also, you might want to read the MWO book. Even if you don't take the meds recommended, you should consider the supplements. Everyone who abuses alcohol at any level suffers from vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
Glad you are here!!

Sunflower's Drinking Diary. The first steps.
SF, the only way for me and anybody who is truly alcoholic is total abstinence. If I have one glass of wine I have no control over my drinking. The AA saying one drinks too many and ten's not enough is very true for me.Good luck with your journey..

Hi Sunflower--there's a "chart" your drinking section--I've used it and it helped me become much more accountable to ME(doesn't matter what others are doing). It CAN help if you want. Perhaps it's a stepping stone to more and better control by charting your consumption.
And if you're in the Newbies section now -- keep going...Psalms 119:45

I'm not perfect, never will be, but better than I was and not as good as I'm going to be.

Sunflower's Drinking Diary. The first steps.
:lWelcome Sunflower,
You've found a great place.
One thing in your favour, you have realised you have a drinking problem early on. In those days I couldn't have cared less. People spoke about me behind my back, called me terrible things and all I did was move places. I had NO support from my family.
I wish I could have the last 30 years back and be where you are now so I could realise how long my drinking career would span.
I'm not a hard core drinker, but I drink every day and usually wake up either with a hangover or feel seedy.
Take care and stay with the community here, its a nice place:lTime to whip AL's Ass :b&d:
