I felt like calling this thread thank f*** it's Friday but thought it might be a bit rude! What a week....!

Fantastic Friday! (2nd March)

Spring is around the corner. Of course, that's easy for me to say in Texas, where the daffodils are coming up and the buds are on the tree. I saw a tulip tree in full bloom yesterday, and soon there will be azaleas. Yesterday, my DIL, who is in the mortgage business, called to say that she had a loan in--guess where?--Enterprise, AL. She called to check up on the client and found her in tears, saying that her son was a high school teacher, and she hadn't heard from him. So by the end of the conversation, my DIL didn't know whether the son had made it out alive. I have watched how weather appears on these boards, and it always makes me feel the reality of the kind of worldwide community we have here. It's fun to think of the Aussies in the waning summer. I can't imagine that. I posted yesterday, but my post disappeared. Anyway, love to all. I don't think I got the summer job I applied for in the UK. Pity. I was going to visit my MWO buddies.

Fantastic Friday! (2nd March)

Hi Everybody, Friday is the most stressful day of my week -- and this Friday is no different. I have the radio show, which takes me almost all day to prepare. I have Oneg (Sabboth Lunch) for tomorrow that I must prepare before sundown -- for 125-150 people. But I only do the main course. And this week, because it is Purim (a religious holiday), I am making five dozen hazentash cookies (rolled cookies stuffed with filling - I'm doing strawberry jam).

So, needless to say that you won't hear from me much today.

weekend challenges

Good morning!
Weekend's here and for most of us that means more of a challenge to moderate - certainly for me - SO I'm going to try to go for one less sip and add one more smile - for every added giggle I'll have one less half glass of wine and for every guffaw (did I spell that correctly?) I'll have one less glass. Now I'm going to have to find a really funny movie!

It was a stormy day yesterday in Alabama.
I hope your DIL's client's son is OK, Fsopiah.....
We are just north of all the really bad stuff.
It was a nerve wracking day as it went on all day!

On a much brighter note....the sun is shinning today .

My thoughts and prayers are with Gypsi and Allie and all who are suffering today with the things that they are living through.
I feel very blessed right now.

Good morning everyone,
I am very teary today though things are ok in my own life.
I am also thinking of Allie and Gypsi and others who are going through things in their lives. I am thinking, hoping and praying for strength, love and guidance to all of you. And to anyone who is feeling alone, I am praying for someone to give you some comfort now.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend planned. I plan to cook hubby a nice dinner and no drinks tonight. I am already emotional enough. In fact, I think I will go for a long stretch of AF for a while. Cleanse the mind and spirit.

Morning all! Lots of sadness around here and I hope those hurting and grieving feel the support and love around here and I hope it helps in some way.

Optimist, I love your plan for laughing more, drinking less. Great plan.

Ilex, there are a ton of UK'ers on this board. In particular on mods there is Waves (WHERE ARE YOU WAVES???) and Betty Boop. Sounds like you have had better weeks. Hope your weekend is a good one.

Jen, hope the house comes through and I hope you start feeling a little cheerier soon. Good job on the AF roll you are on.

I started the CDs this week and it has been a good drinking week for me. 3 days AF without white knuckling it. Think they are really helping, although I wish I could find more comfortable ear plugs.

Jude, hope you are okay today.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and support yesterday. Work was pretty quiet last night & nobody else started crying, so we held it together...
I was talking to the other girls, later & we agreed if anyone had started to cry ..we all would have.

Congrats to everyone with you AF days...Lush, Jenneh...and whoever else I'm missing...
Glad the hypno's are helping Lush. I have my subliminal playing right now.

Weekends seem to be easier for me, since that's when I work. Don't wanna show up for work drunk, and believe me ... been there, done that! This is the same place that I got fired from 8 years ago, for doing just that! 3 or 4 times! I think they'd notice...
