I have just started with the Kudzu and 5-HTP and the book and drinking water and basically just deciding!! Had a weekend where I did not meet my goals and kep guzzling as usual. Started the Kudzu yesterday and did great. I came home and had an ODoul's because it was so warm and I just love a cold beer on a warm day. I opened a real beer and did not feel the need for another until it got closer to bedtime and I was not winding down and not relaxed. When I really think on it that is my goal as much as getting high, being able to finally shut it all out and go to sleep. I had two more beers before bed and the 5-HTP but never really slept deeply. Good news is th e last two beers didn't really help so tonight maybe I'll quit while I'm ahead. Any suggestions????? Hoping to be able to get the CD's soon. Was a little overwhelmed by the suggested schedule of listening that is in the book, but can see by reading your posts that every little bit helps!!Tags: None

cjam....Hi and welcome to MWO!
I do a 2-3 mg. of melatotin before bed. It workd good for me but.........
for anything to work, I have to be totally af for the day. If I drink even one drink, the deep sleep doesn't come. We wake up after about 2-3 hours when the alcohol wears off. No way around that....(
Keep working down to 0 drinks and try the 5hp or melatonin.

Hi Cjam and welcome.
As for the sleep pattern improving, I was about 2 weeks into AF when it happened. I slept the deep bottomless pit sleep that I have not had in years. When I am too wound up, I take some Valeriana with a warm glass of milk before bedtime, but as Nancy was saying, this only works when totally AF. Good luck on your journey.
