I have been in counseling for four weeks now. I have my appt. at 1:00 today and I dont think I can make it through. I just dont feel like I can deal with the reality of how much pain I am in and how bad things really are. I just dont think I can make it. I am just trying to survive right now. Thanks... sorry to be such a downer.

I was thinking of your post just yesterday, Allie, when I was complaining that I had too much family stuff and was feeling overwhelmed. I thought, my God, Allie has guests constantly, then her own kids and her mom's illness. If she can be the kind of buoyant, exuberant person that she is, surely I can keep going and maintain moderation too. Allie, pull yourself together, Sweetie. Where does it hurt? Can I call you?

Good Morning Everybody!

Allie you can make it! You are stronger than you think, but you definitely should tell your counselor that you feel that it is becoming too difficult for you to address the pain in your life -- they may be moving to fast, but if you don't give them feedback, it is hard for them to guage the next step. It is perfectly ok to go in today and say that you need to take a breather and express to him/her why. You are very articulate and talking about why you feel you can't move on may actually be just what you need (I am just sharing my thoughts; I have no medical training. It just seems that you are very expressive and talking it out on your terms may be very helpful).

Well wishes to everyone today. I may not be around much today. I have had a serious earache all weekend. It has now spread to the other ear and my throat! I have to go get a culture and probably antibiotics!

Allie honey, don't give up! Consider it an alchemical process..the pain is the burning that is required that will result in gold. That is the only way I keep going..I totally understand the feeling and the fear, it is everpresent on this end. It takes time, so be patient. Love, di
