    Good morning Muffins!

I decided to check in because--AWWK I let myself run out of kudzu:nutso: --I am attempting to stay away from that d@mn soporific of mine, Cab. Substitute soporific, d@mn you, Cab!

I'm going to order more from Capalo tomorrow but I'll have to figure out how to sleep during the two weeks before it arrives.

Anyway, I wish you all a jolly day!

 E (who is grumpy when sleepless and swears too much)

P.S. I hope that the next person who posts writes something nice!

      Morning E and Betty,
E, I hope you start feeling better soon!
      Betty is that you?
Ducky you asked me a question about autism and yes my 4 year old son has autism so that's why I am so involved. That is so great that your step son is living so independently, that is my ultimate hope for my son as well.

So I have a question for any of you who like to play with words. Help me come up with an acronynm (if that's even right) for the new program using words like Children, Autism, Spectrum, Team,Respite, Support, Parents, Support, Professionals you get the drift....

      Have a great day!

        A quick Good Morning....

I went to bed at 4 a.m. and am up by 7 a.m. after my son being hit by a drunk driver last night. Thankfully, short of some bruises and whiplash is okay, and car is fully insured, but I am thankful that God has been so faithful to protect my children this year as between the two (16 and 20), they have been in three serious car accidents, only one of which was my daughter's fault. I have never been hit before by another car in all my years of driving, so its very unerving that these wreckless and drunk drivers are slamming into my kids. My family keeps saying I should not let them drive if they are going to have wrecks, but what about when they are driving safely and are hit by someone else? My daughter had a wreck that WAS her fault, but I had several wrecks at age 16 and 17, but I'm glad my parents didnt tell me I could never drive anymore because of it! How else do we learn? I dont want to not let them engage in the real world out of fear.

I have so much to be thankful for, and I really need strength to rise up to the tension that's thick around here with lack of sleep. I will choose to focus on counting my blessings rather than being negative. I truly have so many wonderful blessings in my life. I am thankful that my son is now safe and sound asleep in bed instead of in a hospital.

I am thankful for all of you here and for those who responded under What We Believe for my prayer request in the middle of the night.

Make it a great day no matter what!
        Thankful,
        A-
If you do not live the life you believe, you will believe the life you live.

Good morning everyone. Beaches, I will have to think on that one. It is a long road for sure but there seems to be more hope these days because of the increased awareness. Prest, so glad your child is ok. How terrible. When I think back on my very much younger party days I am so thankful I was never in an accident. I never get in a car after having more than a glass of wine these days...way too scary.

More later. Have a great day all. E, hope the kudzu comes soon! Hi Betty. Love the new avatar...

              afternoon modsters

I've been away in sunny divorce-land (God, the paperwork!!) but have lurked a few times and missed you all. Have been moderating pretty succesfully. Turned 40 yesterday - eek! - but my big night out was still oly half a bottle of merlot. Not bad. (prob would have been worse but we then went to the theatre...)

Prest, someone somewhere is watching over you and yours - we are all grateful for that.

Am off to count my own blessings. Kate x

                Good morning Muffs!

E - hang in there. I get grumpy when I don't sleep as well. I have such a hard time sleeping on a good 'tired' night.

Betty - did you have your portrait done in Florida? In one of those studios where you can dress up as if you were in a different era? That is my guess!!

Beaches - I love what PP has come up with!!! CHANCE (Children Having Autism Need Compassion and an Education). I think it is brilliant!

Prest4time - Thank goodness your son is OK. It is definitely a different world out there on our roads now a days. Good on you for thinking about the positives and not dwelling on the negatives. I really wish drunk drivers would just stay at home or catch a cab for pete's sakes!

                Hello to you Ducky!

PP - hello to you and your acronym is brilliant!

Ripley - happy 40th b-day! Good job on the moderating as well.

It is a beautiful day here again. They say it is going to rain this weekend - boo hoo! It is a long weekend here for us in Canada and that just sucks! Not to mention it is my husband and daughter's birthday on Friday and we are going to have ice cream cake on Saturday. hahaha. Oh well. What can you do eh???

Have a good day everyone and everyone yet to come!

PP, I like the acronym too.

Ripley, hang in there. Been there/done that. When I was getting divorced a friend gave me a card with D I V O R C E spaced out with musical notes attached to each letter. Inside it said, "Someday you'll be singing about it." Seemed harsh at the time but for me it became so true because my first marriage was sooooooo unhealthy. Hope things work out for you.

Hey accountable. I hope your weather report is wrong!

Morning all! Not much to report here but wanted to say hi.

A - so glad your son is okay. How frightening for you I am sure.

Beaches, I like PPs suggestion. I was going to say the exact same thing!

Hello to all of the rest of you and those to come. Work beckons......

Prest, that is so scary I am so glad your son is OK. My heart dropped when I read that story.

                        Good morning all!

Prest, deep breath, you have angels all around. Thank God it turned out OK. Get some sleep when you come down from that nervous, freaked out energy. Sorry that happened.

                        PP, that is awesome!

                        CHANCE for Changes!

I have one more for consideration though I am not sure exactly what the program is designed and mission statement would be.

CAST - Childhood Autism Support Team
                        Promotional slogans:
                        Are you in the CAST?
CAST Your Vote for Change Today!
Time to audition for the CAST!

And Lushy - that is so weird that 3 of your classmates went the other direction. My curiosity is peaked, could they pull it off? Some people I know do an OK job and other's not so great. When you are 6'3" with an adams apple the size of a golf ball, there is just no pulling it off.

Almost buckled last night to buy cigarettes and rum. That thought kept creeping into my head, got so far as starting to change my clothes to go back out. I thought about how upset my stomach would be this morning and how upset I would be over drinking and worse for me, smoking so I went and took 900 mg of kudzu and found some of that nicorette gum. Got busy chewing and cleaning and was OK in about an hour. Sigh. I couldn't even trust myself with a glass of wine as I really wanted to just overdo last night. Weird how that absolutely hits so hard when it does.

Catch you all hopefully tomorrow - things are so stressful right now.

Have a great day you beautiful Mods!

                        Love and Hugs to all,

Geez Beaches, are you paying your mods friends some sort of a fee for their suggestions? Those are good too MKR. And as always I am amazed at your ability to put off those cravings and then ignore them. You are such an inspiration. And I know you are grateful this morning.......

LOL at the gender changes. Yes one of them used to be on the football team and was apparently a very big woman after the transition. I did not see any of them but now wish I had gone to the reunion.
