    Good morning!

All is going well this week. My hubbie is in Vegas this week and my grandparents came in for a visit so it's been busy. Feel like I am getting some stuff done but other things keep piling up but that's the way it goes I guess. It will be nice to have the long holiday weekend to at least have a day off of work.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Good morning Beaches, Betty, Sammys. Beaches, enjoy your grandparents. Betty, hope all goes well with your dad. Sammys, enjoy your adventure. Are you going in a kayak or a canoe?

Lots of running around today. Still doing mods but barely. Need to cut back just a bit I think.

        Everyone have a great day.

            Hope In Hardship
            Anything Can Be Overcome

The journey that each human being makes through earthly existence can have hardship as often as it is touched by joy. When we encounter adversity, the stress we feel can erode our optimism, eventually convincing us that the issues we face cannot be overcome. In truth, there is no situation so dire, no challenge so great, and no choice so bewildering that it cannot be overcome. Though we may believe that all avenues have been closed to us or that our most conscientious efforts will come to naught, we are never without feasible options. The best course of action may be veiled in doubt, but it is there. When we are honest with ourselves with regard to this simple fact, we can overcome anything because we will never stop looking for a solution to the challenges before us.

Self-trust coupled with a sturdy plan is the ultimate antidote to adversity?s tendency to inspire disillusionment in the human mind. As difficult as the obstacle plaguing you seems, it is no match for the love of a supportive universe that has been a part of your life since the day of your birth and will be with you forevermore. Try not to be misguided by your fear as this gives rise to the notion that there are problems without solutions. If you believe in your capabilities and dedicate yourself to the creation of some form of resolution, you will be surprised to discover that paths that were once closed to you miraculously open. Even if all you can do is change your perspective to turn an impediment into an opportunity to grow, you will have found the hope that is an inherent element of all hardship.
Remember that your destiny is a product of your own creation. Even when it seems you have nowhere left to turn, there is a solution waiting for you. The only insurmountable obstacles are the ones you create in your own mind?and these can only exert power over you if you let them. Uncertainty will always be a part of your existence, but perseverance and mindfulness will never fail to see you through to the other side of hardship where joy can thrive. Try and remember that no matter what life places at your feet, there is absolutely no situation that cannot be resolved with time, love, and friendship.

              Sammys, sounds like great fun!

Ducky, hang in there..it will get better as you find your way...it's a process

Chrysta, lovely to see you as always

Have a great day to all those to sign in later

The conference is going great..I'm learning alot and it has rejuvinated my spirit and why I got into this business in the first place. (Mental Health)

I worked out on the eliptical yesterday and had 2 drinks at the cocktail reception and then went to my room, read my book and fell asleep listening to the hypno CD. SO far so good.
Sometimes I wonder...."Why is that frisbee getting bigger?"...and then it hits me.

                Good morning to you all!

This weekend was super busy for us as it was a long one here! I am completely exhausted this morning LOL. We had the hubby's family get together at his sister's place for a BBQ. Managed to only have 2 glasses of wine on Saturday night - which was plenty. I spent most of my day eating so the alcohol wasn't really appealing. The weather was pretty harsh with all of the rain but it still was a lot of fun. The rest of the weekend was running errands etc...

I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!

Tx PP and good job heading back to the room after 2 glasses. Glad you are enjoying the conference. Good job accountable. I also find that if I fill up on food a bit that the wine is not quite as appealing...

Happy Lunch time! (my mind is in the food gutter)

Betty - Best wishes to you and your Dad tomorrow! Keep us posted.

PP - Terrific job! Glad you are getting rejuvenated too.

I'm scouring Foodnetwork.com for a great appetizer recipe to take to a class tonight. We all bring food and have a break half way through. Its getting to be sort of a cooking competition of sorts, and its really funny! Last week we were all whipping out our notebooks and exchanging recipes. I got elected to type and print them all up this week, and have one person I must "outdo" with a great recipe tonight! LOL!

Its fun and a great excuse to cook something out of the ordinary.

Hugs and well wishes to everyone else!

                      Morning all!

Betty, you and your dad will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow. I understand what you are going through.

Sammy, have a great time on your trip. Sounds awesome.

PP, you are doing so well. Quite the moderating inspiration!!

Beaches, how lucky you are to still have your grandparents and your children can get to know them. Enjoy the time together.

AFM, sounds like you had a nice weekend but one more vacation day is always needed after a long one, isn't it?

I am with you Ducky. Not doing bad moderating but still more than I should be and with bathing suit season......ugh, I am not going there right now.

Chrysa, thanks for the post. Something I needed to read this morning.

Prest, let me know what you end up bringing tonight. I am always looking for good appetizers.

MKR, Judie, Rachele, Jenneh, Waves, Pixie, Laura, and whoever else I am forgetting I hope you are all okay. Have a great day!!

                        Oh My God!!!

Today has been horrendous ......this is gonna be a long one but I really need to vent !!!!

One of my closest friends is a single mum to a daughter age 10, the father 'left' her when she was 5 months pregnant after violently beating her up several times .... over the past 10 years he has drifted in and out of her life, demanding sex with violence, helping himself to food out of cupboards, getting himself a key cut and generally, verbally abusing her, because she still loves him she has let him get away with it ..... I also need to add that he is a 'thug' he hurts people for money, or sometimes just for fun, and has spent several stretches in jail.

She recently met a kind caring man and had the courage to change the locks, the problem is that this man lives at the other end of the country so only sees her at weekends, her ex found out ....

Today she came round to my office showing me a text message asking for 'his' car back .... long story but the log book is in her name .....

She phoned him and he threatened her and when she went home he was parked outside .... she came back to me and we called the police, they cautioned him and he left ...... but after the police left, guess what he was back .... he blocked in the car with his tow truck and said that he would be back later for his car ....... the police now tow away his truck, my friend daren't leave the house so here I was with my daughter and hers at my house with all my doors locked this man knows where I live and knows that I helped her .........

None of her family will help her because they are all scared of him and his contacts, he has told her bluntly that he will get revenge but will make sure that he has an alibi .............

                        This is kinda scary .......

That's really scary Betty! Good lord. Do the police know you are all at your house at least for safety or so they can be on watch or something?
