I am reading this book called The Miracle Method and its premise is "solution focused recovery" ie it looks at what you are doing right and approaches drinking problems from focusing on your successes and not your failures as does traditional recovery programs and most therapies.
Anyway, it asks you to think of times when you were able to keep your drinking under control, ie specific occasions and focus on the who what when where and why of those occasions and try to repeat and model them for the future.
When I went back and did this, I realized that everytime I drank too much and was unable to moderate, it was when I was drinking wine. If a I had a margarita or something else (sorry, but I live in Texas and we drink margaritas with everything), it was much easier to keep under control.
Any thoughts??
