    30 days moderation in June

    Good morning all,

I was a bit over last night but not too bad. I like your teeth brushing suggestion Tawny. I am going to try that tonight. I have found that works with food so maybe with alcohol.

OK, got over my little pity party about (most likely) having fibromyalgia. All the more reason to keep exercising and take care of myself.

What is everyone up to today?

We have a guy coming to finish a little fence for our side/back yard. Then I will be able to let the dogs sit outside...

My drink of choice (at least in the summer is a cold beer), sour gummy worms DON'T go well w/it! I keep some of those on hand to keep me from drinking too many beers sometimes. You can also get them in sugar free!

        Hi chaps,

Sour Gummy Worms ? there are some things that just don't cross the atlantic...maybe they can't swim?

        Anyway, where are we today?
The wire spider web - I can't bear the face on my neighbour (and the fact that she won't now take my dogs out) so phoned the electric company and started the complaints process...just what I need..but she's not up to it and going into decline or moving to Rugby, neither of which I can bear cos I really care about her.

Partner is out tonight at Diving course (not scuba - more the Greg Louganis type) since we all laughed at him bellyflopping on holiday...

Have a completion date of 23rd July on house purchase...yeeeeeeeee.

Partners major overtime over easter resulted in Fortnum & Mason Hamper being delivered today....Champagne, Pouilly Fume & Sauterne plus pate, salmon, truffles blah blah blah...
now, the partner has simple tastes and I'm not abs....just moderating....yippeeeeeee I think you know where we're going with this.

        still on 250ml.

        xxxx

I can't do the sour gummy worms either. Sorry Jude! I used to love Sweet Tarts when I was a kid though...kindof similar?

The hamper of treats sounds yummy Pebbles. Enjoy! I guess your hamper is my basket...I wish someone would send me one...not that I need it.

          Have a great evening everyone.

            Pebbles,Hamper sounds lovely but tempting.
            Well done Loved1.
Thanks for the tip Tawny-will try it.
Ducky, gentle:l so it doesn't hurt.

I have been pretending to drink tonight cos we had to go a protest meeting in a pub. I had 2 alcohol free Becks lager ( surprisingly nice) and 2 glasses of alcohol free wine ( not so nice).

bedtime now and boy am I tired.

Good job Waves and thanks for the gentle hugs! I once tried the AF wine and Yucko! The beer is tolerable but the wine...just not worth it.

              Nite everyone.

Mods last night and would be feeling good if my hubbie didn't snore all night. Oh well...Off to the gym in a bit for a workout. What has everyone got planned today?

Good morning. Week 2 moderation for me, haven't gotten drunk this week, but drank more than I had planned. I do have a party tonight, but no idea if it'll be any fun. I guess it's more of a "function" than a party since we probably won't know anyone there, but will be an oppty for DH to network. In the past I have made it a point to get tipsy at these boring events - booze is flowing, don't know anyone there, hubby will drive us home, etc. But this is my workweek and I want to feel good if I'm going to put my hands on people. So I'll endeavor to be AF for this event which is past my bedtime anyway.

Ah yes, the setting rules for ourselves and keeping them. Not so good at that in the past. But with the support here, anything is possible, right? So my June goals are: no drinking alone, no drinking after dinner (I do not need to finish the bottle so I can put it in recycling), no more than 2 drinks any one day, no more than 2 days of drinking in a row, no more than 4 days drink per week with no more than 6 drinks total per week. Hopefully Imostly will drink less than this (so far have succeeded) but I'm making the rules to include the week of vacation. Have a good weekend everyone.

Hi Ducky, Waves, Loved, Zin, Louise how you doing?

Me and the universe are on collision course - I think it's testing me. Now, you'll all think I'm being a drama queen and to be fair there's a bit of that about me but...

Today. We are supposed to be exchanging contracts on our house, it's been fairly low key, a small chain and I've kept out of it and let Mr P deal with it. Today, he emails me at work, the cheque he banked on Monday for ?240K has bounced....eeek. It's from our best friends and it's a property deal we've worked on together for 5 years. The (my ex husband - it's a long story) donut has only written it from the wong account. It's taken the entire afternoon to sort out, transferring money around the country and hopefully exchanging contracts.

is it any wonder I resort to a small drink ? fortunately I haven't - but god it's tempting.

Now my small son has "broken" his arm playing snap...no, I don't know how either, not the most dangerous game known to mankind, but his father IS competitive !

                      Another Mod night - 250ml.

                      xxxx

Pebbles, stress overload or what? moving house is supposed to be up there with death and divorce. if you played snap at my house, broken arm would be the last of your worries. seriously though, that doesnt sound right, does he have a history of bone problems?

Pebbles, good job sticking to the small bottle. What is snap? It sounds like a bone breaking game.

                            :H

yes ducky, it does sound like a bone-breaking game. but actually it is a card game where each player has their cards in their hand face down so that no-one can see the card to be played. Players play a card in turn, turning it over quickly just as it reaches the table. If two of the same number appear consecutively then the first person to shout snap and slam their hand on top of the pile of cards wins the whole pile. The object of the game is to win all the cards.

I have had an awful week this week and could drink a vat of Chardonnay. Therefore i daren't drink any!

                            hope you are all okay.

                                Hi Zin,

It's easy to slip when moderating I have found- and hard to keep on track.

Mods takes more planning, decision-making and determination to not stray.

The successful moderators seem to plan their limit and stick to it.

Look at Mkr's drink tracker or Eustacia's. My eventual aim is to match theirs. I managed it for 7 weeks in November/December but then slipped again.

I really admire the long-term moderators. I wish I had a magic wand that could change everyone on here into the sort of drinker they would like to be. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

                                Wishing you success. Love Waves
