    Sunday

    Yay!!!!

Stayed up long enough to get the Sunday thread started! So you can tell what a boring Saturday night I've had. Actually I've rather enjoyed having a night split between the telly and the computer - just me and the dogs and the cats since kids away tonight.

So happy Sunday everyone.... I'm off to bed now with a good book (Ruth Rendell's latest and a hottie )

    Sunday

I'm amazed you can sleep with Ruth Rendell RR, I would either be too engrossed or too scared to sleep. Sounds like everyone had lots of fun yesterday, dancing at weddings, dinner, Arts Festivals, water skiiing. I'm glad your dog did not mind the flip too much St. Jude. At least you had an excuse. I once managed to flip a kayak that the rental guy said was impossible to flip - insisted no one ever had. I had a busy day looking at campers and had another walk with Mary. She will get me in shape yet! Hope everyone has a good Fathers Day here in US.

      Sunday

Well it is still Sat here but happy Sunday! Mods tonight but pizzed at DH who was not listening to my plans for improving overall health and instead jumped in with a drinking lecture. I know he is concerned but I am very annoyed right now. I have been doing better and I guess that is not enough. Time for bed...this too shall pass.

Hope everyone has a great Father's Day.

I hope you had a good night Ducky. Your dog is so cute. Would you like to borrow mine temporarily. He bites mean people.

Ducky, My dog could lick anyone into submission-want to borrow her? Plus she never barks.

Jude, more and more I want to live where you live. I am so envious I have turned green over-night!!!

Mary and Louise, it's great that you are enjoying these walks together.

Betty, hope you had a great time at the wedding.

Robin, enjoy the peace and quiet.

My grand-daughter was in front of the mirror yesterday pretending to laugh and cry just so she could see what effect it had on her face and body. She was so funny. Then she threw her blanket out of the back of the buggy and leaned towards the mirror to try to pick it up.

My leg has returned to its normal size now and survived a run yesterday.
          love to all as always.

              Sunday

Thanks Louise, and hi Waves and Betty. Betty, great feeling to be mods at a wedding, isn't it? I look forward to doing so...

Well I am in a better mood. I understand why hubbie worries about my drinking but sometimes he gets into the lecture mood and I get annoyed because he does not have any addictive tendencies. He doesn't understand why people just can't stop -- eating, drinking, whatever. Oh well...if not for him I would probably be drinking a lot more.

Today is a big challenge. Lots of cooking and company and I am not in the mood. I need to try not to use the wine to get through it. Hoping for mods today.

              Have a great day!

                    Sunday

It's pouring down rain in Dallas. Slowly, I think I'm getting control of things. I don't see why I'm surprised that the confluence of so many life-changing events around me wouldn't throw me for a loop a little. I found an old journal from three years ago, and I realized that things had not really changed all that much. Same people, different place in the river. But I did have a great weekend, with a party for a friend on Friday and seeing my son's band headline at a great venue here in town. Tomorrow is Monday, day of new beginnings, right?

                      Father's day

                      Happy Father's Day!

I went to a wedding yesterday... I had three glasses of wine but I only meant to have two. Water for the rest of the day.

Still something in my mentality seems to be changing. I was thinking about a post from ZinCityZen, in which she says she allows herself one glass of wine with dinner. She also takes kudzu prior to events. I am going to try very hard to follow her lead this month. And I hope i can find the real kudzu, the herb, as I wonder if that is more effective.

I think one of the reasons my moderation has failed is that my cut-off point is too big, by that point i can lose inhibition.

I think the cutoff point should be no more than 2.

I keep thinking about food and drinking. How you need to make choices if you want certain things in life, like health (emotional and physical) and weight loss. How does one learn to enjoy a little of something? I hope to learn that.

I think it's so great that some of you are meeting in person! That must be a lot of fun.

good luck to all of you moderating today, especially ducky considering that the last family event went awry. I can't help but think you would be better off not drinking today but that can be a tall order.

                        Sunday

                        Happy Fathers Day Everyone!

Nancy- you might want to get some L-glutemine as well as Kudzu for taking before going out for special occasions, it works really well. I take it every morning too, & then again before going out for extra willpower...

Sophia- It can be real eye opening to read thru an old journal sometimes ...? I used to keep a travel journal for years,... so glad I did. It was so long ago, & I was so young... Boy did I have the world by the tail.... and I had EVERYTHING figured out too! Hope my Hubby never finds it though

Sammys-Glad ya had fun yesterday. Sounds like it was a bit windy. Not good for getting re-aquainted with an old sport...

Ducky- I hope you enjoy your company & cooking... sounds like more fun than waiting tables! It's getting busy around here...
Betty- I love weddings! Sounds like it was a great one. :goodjob: on moderating.

Waves- Well since you're already green... here's a couple of websites if you'd like to see where I'm talking about when I'm jabbering on about the river & the boats that I surf off of... Jerry's Rogue River Jet Boats.com

Welcome To The Rogue River Mail Boats Hydro-Jet Trips! Jet Boat Excursions On The Wild And Scenic Rogue River
You can actually watch a video on the jet boats and see some wildlife, and the waves from the boats that I catch waves from. It's the river right out in my front yard.. the same guys that keep trying to flip me! ...(but rarely do!.... I swear they have bets going on it!)

Louise- I envy you getting to take a walk with Mary. I hope to do that some day!:h I think any kayak can be flipped if you're good enough.. or daring enough!

                        Have a great day everybody!
                        Hugs, Judie

                          Thanks for that Jude.

However, I prefer your boat to theirs: more peaceful. But perhaps not quite as fast!

                          Greener!

                            Sunday

Morning everyone! I think it sounds like so many of you are doing an excellent job at moderating. Betty well done at the wedding. Those are always an excuse to drink for me. Thankfully all of my friends are married so no weddings in my future.

Running late for church but just wanted to wish everyone a nice day.

Judie, you will be jealous. I am going to see the Indigo girls again today. However, it is outside and right now it is raining. Oh well, will be an adventure.

Waves, so glad your leg is better.

Happy Father's Days to all of the dads!

Definately more peaceful... and much less crowded! I'm sure my stereo is much better & the cooler better stocked too! The nice thing is the tour boats only go by on their way up & down river early in the AM & then later in the afternoon & evening.. so I only see them at certain times of day... and I know when to expect them. So if I want to surf, or want solitude... I can pretty much pick. Plus I signal them if I want a wave, otherwise they just go on by.
