Morning all - can't believe no one's up yet and starting a thread - been reading the posts - you've all been on my mind - welcome to the newbies - stay with us - things are going relatively well here - or should I say "moderately" well - going to be a hot one today - we got as much gardening planted as we're going to and still have a lot to do around the house - hope everyone has a great day

Well I am going to try to post again. Seem to be having computer problems again...grrrr.

The vet appt is routine but our hound needs to have blood drawn, which for him involves a party hat (muzzle) and 3 people holding him tight. Not a lot of fun.

Judy I just love that. I was just sitting here reading and thinking about work and what a hassle grown women can be to supervise and then low and behold their petty stuff should not ever let me waste a whole day with rotten thoughts.

Sammys, glad ya like it! I guess I was feeling nostalgic. I just realized it was about a year ago that I was the "thread leader" for the month of June... back when we were just starting our mods section( I think the very first mods month was April or May...?)
Anyway I always started my post with a daily inspiration.

Also when "laughing out loud" was born. I guess some people just can't be serious!....

Hi everyone. I like that one too Judie.

Hotter than heck around these parts today-100 degrees and still climbing. Kids have been outside most of the day and now they are crashing. My grandfather is here visiting and ended up on the ICU with pneumonia so that has kind of put a damper on things. I am waiting to hear the latest on how he's doing (he's 86) but this mornings report was really good.

My son has something imbedded (very small like a pine needle or sliver) in his foot and now it's infected. Whenever I get near his foot I get kicked and that just doesn't make for a happy me. Any tips on how to get something out the foot of a very unwilling patient? Maybe I will wait until he's asleep.

No clue beaches, only thing I have ever heard was alot of talk like your so brave, what a big boy et..... from friends with their little ones. It did take somewhat of a firm grip to.

You could get a snake bite kit from Wal-Mart - it has a very powerful suction gun and little cups to attach - it'll hurt, but it will also suck whatever is in there to the surface. Good thing to have on hand anyway.

Not sure what to do to make it hurt less, but infections are serious business.

Star I see that, at least you posted we love you and none of us is perfect. I just spelled hood at work as hoof. Left a big note turn off the hoof at nite, everyone was whats a hoof???
