You sound WONDERFUl!!! So glad things are working out so well for you.

I 'm feeling a mite guilty 'cause I've just had my first ever fairly mild dummy spit (Aussie phrase for 'got a bit cross') on the general thread . Oh dear!! Will have to cheer myself up by having a week off work (well I was planning to take a week off any way.)

Still wet and cold and 'orrible here so it'll be a good excuse to lie low and read books and do buggar all.

Good morning everyone,
Things are calming a bit in our neck of the woods. My daughter's surgery went very well and she's such a trooper. Her throat is soar but that goes with the territory (tonsils and adenoids)

My grandfather is stable and still in the hospital here. We are hoping for a release date soon but he won't be able to go home for some time.

Other than that the weekend is coming and I am looking forward to so downtime, somewhere

I'm checking in to share a good day for a change, I have my very own laptop being delivered soon so i'm quite excited, also my neurotic, jealous husband had been abducted and replaced with a kind, understanding, totally pleasant man who I actually like being with ......

Oh, and some friends are coming round tonight for a girly night, which hopefully won't involve too much red wine ....

:H Betty that's funny about your Hubby being replaced.
It rained here yesterday...:upset: So instead of being out on the river kayaking , I did some laundry, a few chores, & made a nice dinner. Hubby was asking, "What have you done with my wife?"

Beaches- Glad your little one's surgury went well. I still remember getting mine out @ age 12. It hurts! They tell you can have all the ice cream you want... that's the LAST thing you want is flem in your throat after having that done! Hope Grandpa is home soon...

Starlight- Glad your feeling better.

Redrobin- I missed the Dummy splittin too. Must not have been too bad... It's so easy for things to be mis interpreted when we're not face to face, also dealing with so many diff slangs...Heck people have a hard time understanding me ...when I'm right in front of em yellin!

MKR- Still movin that darn office? Geez it must be HUGE!

Another rainy day here. But the barometer's changing...so it'll probably clear up just in time for me to go to work! At least there'll be a pretty sunset over the ocean! My roses got a nice watering yesterday too. They look beautiful! Some of the blooms are 6 inches across! They look like colored headlights out in the yard! Smell great too.

Good morning everyone,

I should really be starting a Saturday thread (might in a minute) as it's now 8am on Saturday morning. I've been up since 6am, seeing off the kids and their dad who are driving to Adelaide for a few days. Can't make up my mind whether to clean the house, head off up the bush and go horse riding (weather looks a bit 'iffy' ) or go back to bed. Spoilt for choices! Suppose I could always go back to bed for a bit (weather starting to look very iffy indeed) and then go shopping?

I'm glad that the Nice Husband has made a reappearance Betty - about time too! Jealous of that new lap top. I need to buy one for my daughter - perhaps that will mean I get a bit more time on this one??

Beaches I'm glad the surgery went well. I think your daughter is fairly young? Seems to be the younger the better. My girl had her tonsills removed last year, at 14 and it was a fairly horrendous experience post operatively .That's right Jude, no icecream any more. It's hard scratchy toast to make sure that the throat stays clear of infection. But my daughter is now a different girl, free of the constant throat infections that were poisoning her whole system. I'm sure you'll find a huge difference in your girl's general health too.

Starlight, how are you sleeping these past few days?

Nah! Me dummy spit wasn't too bad. Trouble is when I have a good spit most people laugh (kids mostly) which is very undignified. Dummy spitting....now THERE'S an idea for an avatar........

I am about to kill hubby and bury him in the backyard! I have been working like a dog all week. I have barely slept. We leave for vacation tomorrow. He has been here ALLL day rigging his fishing gear and taking care of the boat while I have been busting it. He calls me on my way home to run several errands..which I did. I asked him a favor which he did not do. Now I am home, I still have to finish packing and he did not do the grocery shopping!! This is a big deal as there are no grocery stores in the Bahamas and you pay $2 for a can of soda. I am sitting here on the computer answering emails, writing out bills and still sorting out what to pack and the a-hole is in the other room playing a computer game. I swear I am going to slit his throat as he sleeps. He thinks because he makes more money than I do that my time doesn't mean anything. Mind you I bring in a damn good salary.........Serenity now...serenity now...serenity now........When we get to the Bahamas I will just have to have take out....everyday!

I am backing up the lush. I could not have said it better myself.

The Bahamas is scary to me. Lots of rats and wild dogs the minute you step off the property @ Atlantis on Paradise Island. And there are no restaurants with water view except The Poop Deck. And the shops all close @ 6:00 p.m. on the main street. Weird to me.

You do see a lot of orange there. Good thing I like orange.
