    A SINCERE APOLOGY MODSVILLE.

    Hi fellow modsters.

    For my own personal reasons, I decided today, that I wished to delete my past posts from the boards. However, unfortunately, as I am not particularly good with the technical workings of the site, I accidently deleted the daily Monthly Mods thread of the past week or so, as opposed to just my postings therein.I realize how beneficial it is to us all to be able to refer back.

    I hope you will all accept my heartfelt apology for this, and I will be more careful in future.

    Maybe RJ can bring it back...
    I didn't realize one person had the "power" to do such a thing..!
    How were you able to delete other people's posts?

            Hi guys,

            Judie, I don`t have the power to delete anyone else`s posts, nor would I ever do such a thing.............what actually happened was that as I deleted my posts, the entire thread would delete had I started the thread..........only I didn`t know that........which is why I have said sorry to everyone.Hope you can forgive my mistake.

            Waves, Beaches, magic...........thanks for excusing my error and understanding my making such a mistake.

                  Deleted posts and threads

                  Hi there. I asked our tech fella about retrieving deleted posts and he restored it before I had a chance to follow up. We're also working on tweaking the settings, as the existing configuration may have contributed to the problem.

                  This is how it works:

                  Registered Members need to contact us if they wish to delete threads they have initiated. You can PM me.

                  MWO Subscribers may delete threads they start. Please keep in mind this will delete all of the users' follow-up posts (as it will above). Some members may find this upsetting. In fact, I just received a PM from someone who was unhappy that I had deleted an unrelated thread after being asked to do so by thread's author. As a general rule, I honor this type of request.

                  All members may delete their own posts. Sometimes this is more appropriate than removing the entire thread, but it can also cause confusion if context is lost.

                  Either way, I hope that helps.

                    Thanks, RJ that does help. I think that's what happened with Starlight. She chose to delete the thread instead of just her posts....All is good.

                    Starlight just keep posting and we will keep moving on...

                      Congratulations Starlight I think you've done very well - if it had been me I would have ended up deleting the entire site!!

                      Half a mind to delete me previous threads and establish a new persona as someone a bit more interesting -but in light of the above, perhaps not!!

                      But, since it's the the start of the NEW FINANCIAL YEAR here and I've promised a fat post and a change of avatar I'll have to be content with that. But later - going shopping now.
