Hi All,
Only joined last night and have already had 15 responses all welcoming me and encouraging me. What an amazing group of people.
I started reading the posts a week ago which helped me to get motivated enough to give up and its now been 8 days (and counting) since I had a drink. I have gone without a drink on a few occassions over the last 25 years for a month or so but have ended up back on it and hit it harder than before.
I have now realised, and admitted to myself that I cannot control the grog and have to face the fact that I have to be a non drinker once and for all. All sounds good but putting it to the test is what its all about and Im hoping that by joining MWO and having other people that struggle with the same problem and sharing their experiences and advice will be the difference.

Hey Flip, do Private Messages have to automatically also go to my e-mail inbox? That's what's happening to me, and I rarely use that e-mail account. I view my PMs directly on this site. Do you know, or somebondy out there, how to remove the automatic entry of PMs to my e-mail inbox?

Janka - go to CP. then Edit Options, then uncheck receive email notifications. That should do it for you.

new to forums

hi all im new to the myo forums..
been in the same boat as you all for a long time..
i have been looking at pages and pages of posts and i find it a very honest and helpful site
so im going to give it a go!
been in and out of aa for 8 or 9 years didnt do it for me?
i got 7 or 8 months last year and looking back it was a good time and i would like it back
i hate the fact i need to use booze!! i need to abstain only way for me!
i realise its the emotion side of life i need to adjust too..
im from starlites neck of the woods(used to work in shawlands) but im in the southern hemisphere! took my troubles with me
well i look forward to participating and trying to go af for a while..

There are a lot of people here who have been successful with long-term AF. I'd suggest you download the book and start from there. It can only get better.

(I don't know what starlites and shawlands are ......)
