I found this site by accident, and I have trouble pulling myself away. I have been reading the posts for about a week now, and can really see how true bonds are formed among the members. I am amazed how much love and true caring is out there.....and I want to be part of it!!!
I am cutting back a little (really just playing games with myself) but what gets me the most is feelings I have had for years are all out there in black and white. Gotta love the honesty.
I find myself coming home from work, logging on and try to juggle reading the posts (or are they called threads?) , and fixing dinner!!
So whatever brought me to MWO..................Thank you

Hi Charlee, and welcome! I did the same thing for a few months.. just lurked and read. Then I ordered the supplements and the book. The book was a real eye-opener (I highly recommend it, you can order it PDF). Anyway, I hope you hang around. It has done wonders.. it took a while, but it is really starting to have an amazing impact on my life.

Thank you for the warm welcome. When I saw the replys to "brightfield"..I knew I was in the right place...the support...Wow!!
Haven't quite decided where I want to go with this yet..tried everything else, Detox, Rehab, even saw a counselor for a short while (that was a big waste!). I think I'm gonna like it here.

Welcome Charlee,
I am a fairly newcomer to this site too. I have found it great. Lots of positive encouragement for me and I hope for all of you too. I am doing my own program with my Dr. Am now on Naltrexone, have a hypnosis tape, write in my diary everyday, use this site for inspiration and encouragement and my GP is my counseller (so to speak). She is just keeping an eye on me. I didn't want to do a structured program and this seems to be doing good so far. I won't be too confident as it is early days yet, but it is encouraging. Hope you find you place in whatever you decide to do.

Welcome....Happy you found us! Many of us "stumbled", upon this site.....just like you! Like MM, I just sort of hung out for a few days, then I began joining in......still drank, but it had lessened a great deal!
After a couple of weeks, I downloaded the book! Yes! The book really opened my eyes to how I could finally become a non-drinker, what a relief that was! All I can say is that MWO works.....if you work it!

I hope you stay, I hope that you find what you are looking for!

My original thread ressurection...sounds kind corny now, but that is how it was...I could not pull myself away from this site at the beginning, I just read, and read, joined in chat and tried to process everything I read... the good, the bad, the happy, the sad. It took me a while, but I finally made the committment to go AF, knowing the struggle that would be ahead. I was scared shitless to go that first evening with no booze in the house and those first few nights were not what I would call fun by any stretch. The most important lesson I learned from all that reading and chatting was that if I was going to make this work, I would have to be ready to face any stressors, triggers, excuses, bad days..call them what you will...... without alcohol. If I was not willing or committed enough, I would just end up back to the same old...maybe next week game.......It has been 4+ months since my last drink.....I come here every day, sometimes I post, sometimes I just read......I never want to forget when I was at the bottom, but I do want to continue moving forward..the folks here at MWO have helped me do that. Today I am very content...Kate you are so right, it does work if you work it. Uni I am so glad you are back and I wish you success on attaining your goals....
