    This I Know for Sure

I am tired of feeling exhausted because I drank the night before. I am really tired of all too often not remembering going to bed. Worrying about what I might of said or done to offend somone. It always begins the same way, I will only have one drink..no maybe two, just to relax and numb out to the stress. Well.....we all know where this usually ends up....drunk and depressed and feeling terrible in the AM.

My life has been terrribly stressful in many ways over the past several years. What I know for sure is that the first drink or two does feel good....they do help me to relax, but beyond two drinks just makes matters worse. Rarely do I stop with one or two lately and quite honestly, this has been the case for quite a while.

For the past several days, I have been researching the web for help. At 60K a month, Promises Rehab is out of the question! But, perhaps I have found the next best thing here.

I am determined to get past this. I would love to share experiences with others of you. I want to live a sober life.

    Thank you for listening

        Thank you Starlight and Sharyn.

I will download the book first thing tomorrow. Does anyone use the Kudsu (?) or the CD's?

        Best to both of you

Hi Kate and welcome. I did the expensive rehab thing, twice. It just didn't work for me. I was thinking about going again when I found the MWO program. I did the program exactly as it is outlined in the book. My last drink was April 8, 2006.
              Best wishes.

                Hello Kate - Welcome.

I realy hope you find all you're looking for here. Everything is here somewhere so 'surf' away on the boards and pop in and crop up everywhere wont you! Don't be shy.

Lots of love and courage to you - it IS possible and mornings CAN be a totally different experience! (I wouldn't have been sitting up in bed typing this 4 months ago!!!! Hmmm, no way!)

In my humble opinion the program here is better than what you would $60k a month!!! Certainly the people you meet will be!!

Conratulations on finding us. We look forward to hearing more from you, good and bad and everything in between.

                      Hi All,

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I have been reading a lot of your stories as well, the sharing really helps, different stories, even living on different continents, but the thread of each of our stories is the same.

I am downloading the book and I can't wait to start reading.

Last night I spent a little time in chat and met some really nice and quite remarkable new people. I am truly happy to be here, to have entered this part of my journey feeling so very supported.

                      Warmest Regards to All

Welcome Kate and I am glad you are here. I hated that feeling in the morning too. The not remembering going to bed, conversations then trying to pretend I felt great at work and be peppy with everyone. You have come to the right place. So many people will share your story and I know from my own experience that I have come so far in a year.
                        Stick around, it's worth it.

                            Hi Hannah,
Nice to meet you...thank you for the warm welcome.

Well....last night, I did it again.......of course....this morning I feel rough and disgusted.

I know that for this progam to really work.....It is up to me to work the whole program. So....I became a paid member.....ordered the starter set.......and...as I am writing this, the book is printing.

Tomorrow, I am flying to Chicago with my daughter for a long weekend. I will not be drinking as I do not drink when I am with her.......I will be reading on the plane. When I get back, I hope the rest of the program is waiting for me.

I really, really want to live a sober life.

                            Health and Happiness to All,

                            Kate

                              :goodluck: Welcome Kate,
I found this site just over a month ago now and its been a huge help for me to get off the poison and stay off it. I've gone 34 days now AF and its a whole new world for me (and my family). I have read the book but haven't worried about the CDs or medications as I feel like its working so far and if I start to struggle thats when Ill look at the others.

Whenever I have felt like a drink the first thing I do is log on and read the posts. Within miniutes it reminds me what Ive already acheived and what life will be like if I start drinking again. The support here has been great and it makes you realise that you are not on your own with this fight. Turn the fight into a challenge and look forward to what lies ahead for you. "Flip" told me when I first joined that its more of a journey than a challenge and he is spot on. The challenge for me was to get the courage and motivation to admit I needed to stop drinking. I believe you can do it as well as you say your are determined and you want to live a sober life.
                              YOU CAN DO IT!
Let the journey begin and good luck with it.
                              Cheers
                              Aussie
