NO LONGER IN DENIAL
All I can offer you is my own experience with withdrawal symptoms. On average, I experience the following symptoms for 1-3 days after I stop drinking:
jumpiness
nervousness
difficulty sleeping
depression
mild hand tremor
foggy thinking
If I have been drinking particularly heavily, I sometimes experience a rapid heartbeat as well, which can be scary.
In any case, I usually just take a prescription sleep medication for the first 3 days to help me sleep, and eat a healthy diet, including lots of water. I usually notice marked improvement after 3 days, and feel like my old self after 5 days. After that, it's just the cravings to deal with. Hope this helps.
