Thank you living free for letting us in. It is weirdly comforting to know other perfect lives are a twisted mess inside. I am about the same age as you and it is both hollow and sad to see how hard we work all our lives to see AL has been stealing away the very soul of our happiness. I just have to find out where that bastard hid mine!

I hope to always follow 48 days behind your success!

Liz, what a powerful post. You are a strong person, that's for sure. Great job on so many AF days. Keep up the good work.

There is a thread out there titled "30 to 60: MM, Mya, Believe...." started by Wonderworld. Anyone is welcome to join it, but it was actually started for people who made it through the first 30 days and is continuing the battle. It's a great way to discuss what we are going through now at this stage. I expect we will keep it going beyond 60 days. Please feel free to come find us. Again, anyone can post there even if they are just starting out and perhaps would like to know what they can look forward to, etc.

We are here for you. Wishing you all the luck in the world on your continued jouney.

              Love, Me

I had to go back and edit - wow the topa has me completely unable to type! I wish these had grammar check!! I remember reading in RJ's book that it will take your cognative skills and trash them - well - mine are through the garbage disposal.
Thanks to all for your kindness - that's what is so amazing about being here. 4theboyz - you just keep counting and you stay right on my heals - lets just keep adding those numbers, one day at a time. This is the place and time. You CAN. If I can YOU CAN TOO!!:goodjob:

Thank you for sharing your story with us.
I think it is a healthy thing that you were able to confront your dad.
It is sad but understandable that your mom is afraid to.
It is a given that the people on this earth will fail us, but I'm so glad that you understand that we have a true Father who never will.

                        Livingfree~

Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. I know how hard it can be. It really touched my heart. It never ceases to amaze me how we all come from different walks of life, different backgrounds, different family dynamics, but the essence of our stories are similar. The end results are same. We are all here. We found each other. That is no mistake.

Your adult life sounds mirror to mine, sucessful executive life.. swapped for "better life". I also own a day spa and am 50 days AF today. Parallel sober-sisters!

I look forwward to getting to know you better. So glad you are here.

                        Namaste,

                          Liv,
:upset: Your story is just like mine except we didn't have money as kids but oh my god same thing. I too had to get a fun job and have worked in spa's for 12 years, hairdressors are usually artsy and imbibe in some form of substance abuse. So it became ok, but this last place I worked was too casual for me and I had to get out of there for my own good. And the recession didn't help much either!! I didn't have bulimia but anorexia for about 2 years after being raped when I was 14.
Thanks for sharing and its funny how so many of us have the same story. Luckily I know people that came from great homes that are also alcoholic, co-dependant, drug addicts or all of the above so not everyone has to come from crazy town to be very poor coping skills or feel the need to be perfect overachievers, (yes many of us can relate to that). At first I was going to try to say I didn't drink in the mornings yet but I did occasionally about 2 years ago. too much going on and couldn't deal with it or should I say wouldn't.

I too am a frustrated perfectionist...

If I cannot do it perfect.
