Procrastination - Tomorrow Never Comes
Decided to delete this. The post just didn't feel right. But I can't delete the title, or at least I don't know how. The procrastination i was referencing is dealing with the past. It seems to be some other person's past, not mine. I can't get to it emotionally. Oh well, you're supposed to live in the present anyway. But the problem is I feel as though there are some clues in the past that I could really benefit from knowing.

Procrastination - Tomorrow Never Comes
Always Wishing,
I too am struggling with the why of my need to drink had a good go around with that very struggle myself last week in fact.
Tomorrow does come but many times the past comes right along with it. I am focusing on surrendering myself to the "now", to live in the now, *feel* the now. I believe we wrap ourselves in many protective layers to help prevent the painful experiences of our past to hurt us any further. It's only natural, part of the human condition as I see it.
For me confronting my addiction meant laying bare those painful raw emotions that I worked so hard to numb with alcohol. Not pretty, certainly not any fun. But to embrace those painful emotions has allowed to me to then be able to carefully put them aside so I could once and for all live my daily life for me today and not yesterday. I love my AF free days, I still get urges but I have wonderful clean feelings and emotions that I can carry with me to give me the strength and hope I need to keep it all going albeit still one day at a time. But I am also now able to see a wonderful clean and sober tomorrow!!
I hope you can too - Be strong!

Procrastination - Tomorrow Never Comes
Always Wishing
Tomorrow never comes. Period. It doesn't matter if you are a procrastinator or a do-er.
Everyday when you wake up - it's today. You can "think" about tomorrow. You can "imagine" what tomorrow will look like. You can "plan" for tomorrow. But you can't "have" tomorrow. It doesn't exist. This is not a metaphor. It is truth. We only have tomorrow in our vision. We do own our yesterdays - like it or not. But tomorrow - it never has existed.
Have you ever known anyone who had tomorrow? No one has.
So - your thinking must change. It is today that you can delay, procrastinate, change, etc. It is only today you can do anything about. I don't mean to be over thinking here - but once I really realized the truth in this concept - everything changed.
LivAF since Jan. 1, 2008 .... It all began right here
Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice, you made it now.
