not sure how to get started on the programme. I want to say hello to everyone out there and say that i am happy to have made this start. I have been awake all night after day of binging. I was feeling very depressed and decided during the night that i have had enough. i dont want the publicity of aa so this site is an answer to prayer. i am determined to make this work and have read some of the stories and i seem to be the same as everyone else. i feel much better after this browse but can someone tell me how to work the chat room.

i can get up now and i look forward to today. Thank again and will see what the day holds.

    xx maggymay

    hello Maggie May
Welcome. You just click on the chat link at top of this page and it will direct you there. Once there just wait a few minutes and you should be able to see all the people who are on (including yourself). If there is a conversation already happening you can click on actions to see what they have been talking about and you just join in by typing in the box just like this. See you in chat sometime maybe.
    Good luck

        MaggyMay,

        :welcome:

You can download RJ's book about her story from this site. It is not very expensive and it is a good read. It describes the program and how our brains are affected by drinking. It also outlines a program for us to either reduce our intake to moderate or to go completely abstinent.

I don't know how much you drink or if physical withdrawal is an issue but you should check out the link at the top of the page for signs of alcohol withdrawal. If you have any need of medication, that link can tell you about it.

Read the book, read the posts and ask any questions you have.

I am glad you are here and good luck on this incredible journey.

        Love,
        Cindi

          hi cindi,

I am getting to grips with the site and think i sent you another reply. I will read the book - and look forward to what it has to say. things are looking better already. Thank goodness I took the time to find you all.

Sometime soon i will write my story - and even that is kind of exciting.

          take care love maggymay

              my first visit

a huge hello to everyone! I wish everyone the very best of luck with the AF days. I am only on day 4 but it feels so good to be in control after months upon months of drinking wine at nights - as a way for me to relax...stupid I know...I guess I got sick and tired of feeling sick and tired...reached this conclusion on Sunday and therefore was determined to do something about it...so here I am. My apologies if i am posting on the wrong thread or area..do not have much of a clue what I am doing. Just wanted to say hello and best of luck to us all. We can do it..:new::new:
