    Oh Okydoky,

You have touched my heart with your story.
Thank you for having the courage to share it.
At the beginning of being sober, you will feel more down.....like you have lost your best friend....and you have...Al is always available when we need him.
    He is NO friend though.
There are some good threads about him and what a nasty rascal he is.
Please...............make some room for us to be your friends.
There are many helpful people here.... just ignore the ones that rub you the wrong way(just don't respond to them) and take what you need here.

PM me anytime and I'll send you my email.
    :h love you

Thank you for sharing. I am sorry that you are feeling that it is hopeless. I do not feel that it is. I have had outpatient treatment and go to AA. I learned a great deal in treatment and in AA. For me, it helps a great deal to be around others who have the same problem. We have lots of fun too. There are camping trips, athletic leagues, dances, lots in get involved in. I was told in AA that when I am feeling really down, I should step outside of myself and do something for someone else. I hope this is helpful. Not all agree with AA stuff. Just thought that I would share what has helped me. I wish u all the Best.
