I feel like removing alcohol from my life is creating a void of uncertainty. Throughout the day I know, that at the end , I can at least go home and get pissed. Which is strange, cos I love my daily life, its great fun, and I met so many different great people.

Jason,
It sounds as though you don't like being alone with yourself, as if you feel you're putting on a persona during the day and it is a relief to let go when you get home.
A void of uncertainty sounds frightening but then there is no certainty in anything, so it is quite normal to feel uncertainty. When people are in the flow of life, confident that whatever happens is for a reason, and that they are guided then they can live in the present moment without concern about the past or the future. So there is no uncertainty only possibilities.
If you want to do this you can, there are many people here who are testament to that. How are you feeling now?I love you, I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you.

Welcome Jason, very happy you found us. Writing that first post takes a ton of courage and it's a great first step. Stick around."Keep your eyes and heart focused on the end goal at all times, and never settle for less."

Hi Nevyn - Hope you are well!
On August 31 you said you crashed and took 3 weeks off work to get things in order - this sounded like a very good plan! However today you say that you have been drinking every night after work. Did you go back to work sooner than planned?
If you really want to kick this you have to start taking care of yourself. We all want this for you! You are too young to throw your life away! You can do it - it has been proven by many people here that were in your very place.
You have to be positively ready to do this.....only you can make it happen!

Hey Nevyn,
I'm very new to this site but unfortunately not new to drinking. I caught in one of your messages that you "didn't have any yesterday". If you are able to go a day without you can continue on with that...I'm sure that you can! That first day is SO hard.
I was very intent on making today my first AF day for a long while...but stopped by the store and bought my usual box of wine. I'm cheap...I don't buy the bottles! Reading posts on this site tho...I am inspired and think that I will be improving very soon...just not today.
I am so full of hope and have the willpower in the morning but I guess I just get tired and talk myself into it by the end of the work day.
Keep strong and keep working thru this...you've made a great find with this website. The people here are great. I can tell after being here only a couple of days. I couldn't wait to get back on today.

Just wanted to check in to say: I feel your struggle, and hope you don't give up. Just keep coming back on this site; even if you're on a bender! I've gone from a few bottles of wine per day, to complete sobriety (and loving it!) back to booze throughout the day. The worst part is that I LOVE how I feel when I'm sober - I run every day, eat healthy, stay in touch with family and friends.
But then, when drinking, I put on weight, have no motivation to exercise, and look like hell! I'm only 27, but feel decades older because of all the drinking...
What I can say, is that just one or two days of being AF is like a god-send. I look in the mirror, and - gasp! My eyes aren't puffy, my hair even looks better, and I actually feel good in my skin.....
If you can (and I KNOW you can - you sound quite successful in other areas of your life, so I know you have the strength to do this as well - plus the support from MWO!) just give it two days w/out booze and see how you feel. Just see
Best of luck to you friend -
Rose
