Wake up call
My drinking had gradually increased over the last 5 years until I was drinking almost daily over years with few forced days off and the odd month on the wagon. I used to think I could cope but have found myself remembering less and being hung over most days and unable to stop despite all this. At the weekend I knocked a portable TV off our bedroom drawers it has not worked since, when my wife told me off about it I swore at her but could barely recall it in the morning.I have been to my doctor and and gotten antabuse and am a few days dry. It all feels new and like I am really awake for the first time in months. I sense from what I have read here the last 2 days that this is a good place to be.I am blessed with love joy and sobriety.Tags: None

Wake up call
Congrats on your first sober days! Keep coming here - I'm up to 28 days AF which sounded impossible before I found MWO. Like Sheri I feel awake again after 36 years. It is a wonderful new way to be, and I wish you much success in your journey. You will not regret it.
Much love to you!!!Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our mind ~ Bob Marley ~ Redemption Song

Wake up call
Welcome to all of you. Very good on the work you've done so far, and think of every positive reason to stay with your programs. AL problems only get worse as we age; our body can no longer stand the wild swings that AL causes, and blackouts become common, hangovers become hell overs. I hope you've read all you can here, and continue to read.Best wishes on your paths.
