This morning my wife put her wedding ring back on before she left for work. WOW I was astonished and so happy. Even though the excitement was there I had a deep feeling of respect restored with my wife. This is a huge step for both of us and her attitude towards me and my sobriety is one of embrace and committment. I am now on a life long mission to stay sober as she will leave if I falter or slip. Might be harsh reality but she has endured so much in our short marriage. I will continue to take the meds and seek everyones help and support especially in times of desperation. Today is normally one of my days that I would be wasted from 11am until 8pm while she is at work. I was very nervous that my addiction would start to trigger my mind into thinking it needs booze today. Though a slight crave came on I was able to handle it and chat in the forum to control the horrible thought. Then I went and watched a movie with my son. (URGE OVER) Mind body and soul is so in tune right now. Glad to be AF and good luck to all others that are AF or trying to become AF.

im glad you made it over the hump...remember to stay vigilant!!! i was like you and drank while my husband was at work and i do get triggers when he is gone for a while, but i stay busy and remember how much i have to stay sober for.
it takes work, but so does drinking your life away, we both know which one is more rewarding in the end!

I couldn't have done this without the support of Mr JC. I'm astonished that he kept coming home every night worried sick about the state he'd find me in.

This place has been a godsend for me.

everyone thank you for the kind words. Today is almost over for me and still no drinking. Watching my son eat his mac-n-cheese is all the high I need! Amazing I just said that because before I probably would have been drinking a beer while cooking his mac. Wife and I have text all day and we booked a trip to Mexico for 3 days and my inlaws are watching my child so we can go and just be alone and start to reconnect. I will keep you all posted!
