It's high time I deal with this, I'm new and here's my story

Hello Whatevah, thank you for sharing your story. I wanted to add my welcome also, to what has become a life saving place for so many of us. You have been through a lot but sound a very intelligent person who can see the wood for the trees and has decided to do something about it, a decision nobody ever regrets imo. Not saying this is easy but it can be done. Acceptance and 100% commitment are paramount. Read, read some more and decide on a plan of action to put in place, oh and post regularly, accountability is very important too.
    Keep safe

Hi whatevah and welcome! Another thread you might want to look at is this one What's your Sobriety Plan? because having a plan is really essential. Best to you in your journey!

        whatevah...

I have not written 'my story' here yet, but once again (I commented on another member's post) I really like how folks here are apparently non-judgmental. I am also inspired regarding how many people appear to be intelligent and well-spoken. Could it be that I've found my online community to sobriety? Best of luck to you, my friend.

wow, I see so much of myself in your post it's scarey.
I also wake up thinking never again and even look forward to feeling healthy again. Then by evening time I'm thinking 'Well I got through today so no harm having a drink' which of course turns into a bottle.

I'm encouraged by the success stories here. I feel if these guys can do it then so can I. I just need to be very strong and remind myself why I'm doing it.
