    Hello all

Hi all, i found this site some time ago and help me to realize that i have problems whit alcohol. I dont drink every day (only friday or saturday night, just 1 day) but when i start drinking i can?t stop. I try to be free of alcohol but always i have an excuse (just 1 beer or friends meeting ).Most of my friend get drunk whit me every weekend and I had problems whit the police for drunk driver some years ago. For now on i will try to stay home because if i go out, there is a big chance to get drunk again.
Thanks for listen me, and see you around !

    Hello all

    :welcome: Mr. D,
I had a similar drinking pattern to yours. (at least for some of the years I drank) I think that's why I didn't think I had a problem for so long. It was one night a week. I also had the same problem, I couldn't stop once I started. Pretty much always knew when I said one beer... it would be at least 3 or 4. On big nights I have no idea because after 4 I'd black out. I never had problems with the law. I think that was pure luck as I have been behind the wheel when I shouldn't have been. I've had lots of other problems caused because of drinking though. :goodjob: on coming to terms with your circumstances. You'll find a ton of support here and find the strength to get control of your situation.
    All the best,

        Hello all

        :welcome: Mr D
I'm glad you found us. I started of as a binge drinker on the weekends and continued this for several years before alcohol started to creep into other days of the week eventually becoming a daily occurrence. I wish id realized then it was a problem as I never knew when to stop. I hope you manage to get this under control before it progresses any further, you will save yourself a lot of heartache and misery if you do.

          Hello all

Thanks all for your support. Was funny last night i got a phone call from my friends to go out and i say "no thanks" and they try to convince me 2-3 times, but i stay home. I m 99% sure they didn?t do anything because i m always the wheel and other things.
I ll start looking for what trigger me to drink because is a patern like you told me here. The most stupid is i had problems whit the law and i kept in the same line. I went hang-over to a final exam (i ll graduate in 2 more weeks) and that never happend to me before, and many thing that don?t make sence.
Thanks again for sharing experience and see you around.

            Hello all

            Hey Mr D,

I have the exact same issue as you...binge drinker who doesn't know when to stop. It would be a weekly occurrence although towards the end the days varied! I rarely drank in the house or on my own. I decided to quit cuz I was sick of the stupid things I would do and say under the influence of alcohol. It just got so tiresome.

Anyway, I am 18 days af and feel great. Looking forward to my 30 days. My friends have been v supportive. If you truly want to maintain an af lifestyle you will have to avoid situations that threaten your sobriety until such times as you are comfortable enough.

Good luck on your journey and we are all here to support u.
