    As promised: my story

    Thanks PW!

Yesterday was 666 days. I wondered what it meant! Eek!

    Well, it meant ... I hadn't had a drink for 666 days, that's what.

2 years coming up in June, but I'm looking less at the numbers these days. Not that I'm getting complacent, far from it, but I'm pretty sure by now that alcohol simply isn't a thing for me anymore, and being sober has become a natural, easy, comforting way of life.

One thing that really helps is that I managed to "freeze" the feeling of horror and dispair of the worst hangovers (probably withdrawal at that stage) in my brain. I can recall it in a split second. And I am so absolutely relieved that I'll never have to go trough those ever again.

Anyway, just popping in to let you know I'm still trucking!

        Thank you.
No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.

          As promised: my story

Hey folks. Yesterday was my 2 years alcohol free, so I'm still doing fine, and do not find it hard to keep with it and imagine a 3rd sober year.

That said, this will be my last post here. Nothing personal, and I wish you all well, but - as you will be well aware - moderation is pretty much lacking here for the last couple of months, which gives a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth.

I don't have a problem with skipping past spam posts, but... Google doesn't either, and the longer stuff like that stays up on a large forum, the better their ranking gets in the search engines. As an admin and/or moderator of several forums, I have always put in a lot of work keeping the spam bots out, and I feel strongly about it.

So, so long, and I hope things will turn around for this forum. Keep at it!

            Chief.... I wish you well.

Please know that your story, your open journey, has been inspiring to many of us.
When someone feels trapped in an alcoholic fog, and they come up, albeit for a moment, to Google for a "cure"... and they find My Way Out.... and then, your story. WOW. :h

You have led the way in showing people that we CAN do this.

            Hugs, Patty
