    my best hope baclofen

    Hello

i havr been addicted to cocaine for 16 years i hblem with alcoholave never has any problem with alcohol so i am not sure this is the right site for me. I certainly hope so
I havr tried everything and nothing hasnothing worked ver worked. 12 step meetings, counseling, rehab. Nothing worked.
I have suffered terrible consequences because of my addiction. I am almost broke, i am in real danger of losing my home in foreclosure. My wife has told me dhe doesn't want to be with me no more. I have been incarcerated twice for possecioveon and have had 2 overdoses.
To make matters worse scince about 2 years ago i have also developed a gambling addiction. Every time i get high on coke, (wich is a the lmost every day) i go to the casino and gamble alot of money. Its 2 weeks agoalways money thats for my family's basic necessitys like food, bills, mortgage payment, ect. Needless to say im in a very bad sutuation.

    my best hope baclofen

2 weeks ago after one of this episodes, i stumnled on this site and read about baclofen. I did more research on it and the more i read the more exited and hopeful i became. I got my sister (who is a nurse) to get baclofen for me. She got me 90 20mg tablets. I have taken them for 3 days now (40 mg/day) for4 days now. Starting tomorrow i will up it to 120 mg a day. I havr put all my hopes in this. Because of what ive read i really thimk this is going to save mmy life.
    Any suggestions appreciated thanks.

:welcome: Baclofen gave me the extra power that I needed to say NO to alcohol. Have you seen the YouTube on baclofen opiates on a brain scan? It looks hopeful! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byain0Vo5mo[/video]]Baclofen dramatically reduces cocaine craving - YouTube

Well for the last three days i have been smyoking less than a :goodjoback a d ayw/out any effort. It just seems to happen ! Im a attuck driver and ive been out on the road the last five days. I never buy coke out on the road because i dont know where to get it. So i dont know if its gonna work on the coke yet . I cant wait to get home and see!

How has it been going these last few days? I primarily post on the meds thread but I saw your post. Bac is not for the faint of heart (I have done my share of wavering) but for those of us who have tried alternatives, it seems to have great hope.

The best advice I can give is to use a holistic approach as much as possible. There is so much going on in our heads! Even if we can stop the cravings (via medications) we still need a way to go about being part of it all. AA does seem to have cornered the market on the question of "how do I go on" but I am not personally a big fan. There are many other ways we can help ourselves.

By the way, the internal circus we have going on in our heads is true for most human beings but for alcoholics and addicts it ruins the parade for everyone.
