How to forgive your self (blackouts)

I see this is an older post but I just wanted to let you know that I can relate to the depression and guilt feeling that comes the following day. Not knowing (and especially knowing) what you did while drunk is a very destructive feeling. I have been there and done that too many times and have hurt a lot of people over and over again. I can't even expect forgiveness at this point. I hope you will be able to kick the habit, either abstain or moderate, this is also my wish....

thank you, chef. I looked up this website after feeling the same guilt expressed in this thread. You words bring me comfort. Thank you.

I know this is a very old thread, but it so perfectly captures what I have been feeling that I have to post.

As Gem says: "So sometimes we get drunk to shut the voice up ? but then it just comes back the next day with even more to be angry at us about."

Tired - I love your name! Wish I had thought of it.
