Children have a unique ability to see through our guises. I think truth is the best and sometimes telling the truth helps get the brain back into gear and then we want to live truth.

Advice re: kids ?
Mu husband and I had always been drinkers, (lots of alcoholism in our families, especially mine) but when our son, then 2, began to stick his finger in Gramma's wine glass, and then in his own mouth, and then giggle beause he knew he's done something daring, we began to worry. Shortly after that, we went completely AF for ten years, and even when we began drinking again, we were careful to keep it under control. He is now 22 and does not have any problems with drinking. Sadly, I did, and this forum has helped tremendously. Condensed version of this story - yes, sorry, the kids do pick up on this stuff. Do whatever you can, it makes a difference. The furture lies before you like newly fallen snow - be careful how you tread it, for every step will show.
