I was born in 1950. Grew up listening to Elvis, then the Beatles, Stones, etc. In my (soon to be senile!) recent years, I have discovered the joys of a couple of artist that really give me a great deal of pleasure. One is Bobby Darin (Mack the Knife!). If he had lived longer he may have outshone the likes of Sinatra & Dino. Alas, he was struck down at 37. Another is the team of Louis Prima & Keely Smith. They had their hey day in the 50's in Vegas with tunes like Old Black Magic, Jump Jive & Wail, and one of the jazz classics of all time Sing, Sing, Sing, as well as many others. Mister S-Glenn Miller was also before my time but my Mom was the biggest fan ever. And I've seen The Glenn Miller Story with Jimmy Stewart a bunch of times. Bought my mom a CD set of GMs hits for Xmas a couple of years ago. Of course, she didn't have a CD player, so we had to go out and buy one!!
