    One Dead in Attic

i'm about 1/2 through. It's a series of Chris Rose's columns in post-Katrina New Orleans. This is one of my favourite books that i've read this year.

It shows the attitude and fortitude of people that are Americans and humans just as I am.

Why would we not want to re-build one of our cities after it was destroyed???
    -maybe, is the new maybe-

This sounds interesting. I had to rebuild my home in Florida after Frances and I always say that I was very lucky. I had friends and neighbors that were able to give us a place to stay for a few days until we were able to rent an apartment. The people in NO had no one to turn to.
Think I would like to read it. Thanks for posting this.

I just read "A Very Private Englishman" by Martin Booth. He is an incognito resident of Italy who makes guns for assassins. A good read.

Also Bel Canto a story of diplomats from all over the world who are imprisoned by renegade soldiers and the opera singer who captures their admiration. By Ann Patchett.
