    gripping read about african american domestic workers in mississippi in the 1960's (during the civil rights movement). written by a white woman from a sympathetic white woman and the maids perspectives. really good read so far.

    Great book! I picked this up from the library the other day and took it to my sister, she read it in 2 days and loved it too!

          I just finished this on my new Sony E-Reader............. It is a touching story of the 60's. This is the time that I was in high school in the south. I lived in Birmingham Alabama at the time and saw some of this first hand..............
