anyone read this? I bought it today and its absolutely fantastic so far, cant put it down. Its mainly about how noone is an alcoholic per se , but rather we are all alcohol abusers . All drinkers = all alcohol abusers. He makes a very valid point in saying that if we knew someone who was abusing cocaine or crack and they were explaining to us that they only used on weekends, or weekdays or never before midday or something we would hear this for the bullshit it was, however, we hear people talk this nonsence about alcohol all the time and we accept it as such.
He further talks about the aa concept of an alcoholic , where one is never recovered, it been a life long disease to be battled, he dismisses this as bullshit we are conditioned to accept.
Anyhow I have to say im finding it a very helpful read,(only on page 80!!) thought Id share.

Love it - had a quick 'look inside' on Amazon and he says that alcohol is the only drug on earth that you have to justify NOT taking, how true is that!! How many of us have our list of excuses for when some eejit asks us 'why are you now drinking'

exactly! This book is doing it for me. Its common sense and it makes sense and I love the 'freedom' message. I always found aa so boringly negative,I know alot of peeps have had alot of success with it but my God, its like carrying the monkey on your back all your life!! To hell with that, I want to move forth with the burden off my shoulders, I want to tell everyone 'im free'. I certainly do not want to go around feeling like I could snap at any moment and revert back to the sad alkie I was, f**k that! Been there , done that , was shit, with certainty im never going back there again.

I am also getting a lot out of this book! Love your attitude Mizz Fitt! Next time I go out and see people drinking I think I will have a different way of looking at them. They are probably fooling themselves into thinking they have it all under control. But like most of us...it's just a matter of time before they end up like us. I am loving being the one with my head in the right place for a change. It is so empowering! I got my daughter the Smoke one. She has agreed to read it, especially when I told her she could smoke while she read the book, he even encourages it.:eeew::

Sounds very like Allen Carr's concept though (which I've read before but gave the book away thinking I had cracked it!) although I like Jason Vale so I've ordered it. I was in WH Smith today and had allen carr's book in my hand (the easy way to stop drinking) and I just couldn't buy it incase the assistant judged me!! I'm an eejit!! I put it back and luckily when I got home I read your post and ordered Jason Vale's book on amazon.
