has anyone read Matthew Flinders' cat by Bryce Courtenay. It is probably well known to all you down-under Aussies and Kiwis. I was given it a few Christmases ago and simply could not put it down. It also deals with Alcoholism. The author really holds up that mirror to ones face. The alcoholic character is not really on the sideline, but his afliction is a constant, everpresent subdued drone underlying the story. It is a really good read. Let me know how you liked it.
