A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness

Diana is a sexually repressed witch and historian who's doing a research sabbatical at Oxford. One day she recalls a rare alchemical manuscript from special collections at the Bodleian, and the next she's being hounded by vampires, daemons, and other witches. Why are they all so interested in a forgotten manuscript? Diana's totally clueless. The only person she trusts to help her is Matthew--a vampire, super scientist, and fine wine connoisseur who is also after the manuscript.

I enjoyed this book, but it was a tad too descriptive at times about the most mundane things. The color of a sweater, the amount of fluid in a cup, etc. However, all in all it is a fun read that's very hard to put down. I just ordered book II from Amazon!!!
Outside of a dog a book is mans best friend. Inside of a dog its too dark to read

Sounds good techie!! I admit that I am so critical these days about most of what I read, lol. It's hard to find something about which I can truly say, This one is GREAT. I'm writing this one down in my "to read" journal.
