*The Good House* by Ann Leary
This is my first day on this site, so please pardon me if this topic has already been started. I just finished Ann Leary's The Good Houseand it scared the living daylights out of me. Has anyone else read it (it's fairly new) and want to comment?Tags: None

*The Good House* by Ann Leary
Book Group
Hi, O Fortune and 3 Dog Night,
The author was interviewed on Morning Joe today and I just ordered the Kindle book from Amazon. Here is this link if anyone is interested:
The Good House: A Novel: Ann Leary: 9781250015549: Amazon.com: Books
It seems like it is one many of us will relate to. I was thinking of starting a thread for a discussion group and then found this thread already in place.
Would you be interested in discussing various chapters? Or the book as a whole (I suspect I will be so engrossed that I will read it fairly quickly ).
Hope you both are doing well, NS

I read the description of this book on Amazon, but I can't get a grasp on the genre. Is it a mystery? In the middle of my life's journey, I found myself in a dark wood, as I had lost the straight path. It is a difficult thing to speak about, how wild, harsh and impenetrable that wood is. Just thinking about it recreates the fear. It is scarcely less bitter than death, but in order to tell of the good that I found there, I must tell of the other things I saw there. --Dante, paraphrased

I am really enjoying this book. I recommend it to drinkers and non-drinkers alike. It's just flat out entertaining! It prompted me to google Ann Leary (Dennis Leary's wife), and yes she is an alcoholic, although she says only parts of her real life are in this novel. Now I want to read her non-fiction book. I think it is an autobiography of sorts?

Hi LG! Good to SEE you pretty gal!
I finished Parched and started Unwasted...I have to say that Parched sorta bugged me...in an annoying kind of way, whereas Unwasted is totally more my speed...I guess it's just different personalities. Well there's my unprofessional opinion. Lol:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Did I understand correctly that you stopped reading it?
