    Check this book out! I downloaded it to my kindle and have been sucked in from the very first paragraph. This is a fantastic book.
    If anyone knows how I can share a kindle book, let me know and I will share it to your kindle.

      lol, it's definitely worth it. She just lays it all out there. The wake up process, checking the bed for strangers, reaching for her cigarettes and praying for one or two to be in there, trying to piece the night together, and trying to figure out who was in her house the night before. Then working with the hangover, taking swigs to get through the day....
      I'm enjoying her candid and brutally honest writing.

        Nursie,

        Thank you for this suggestion. I finished it today. I did like her candid writing and was so ready for her to find her way out, as she did.

        I am now 1/2 through her next book, Redeemed, and enjoy it even more.

            I CANNOT find this book! Looks like it was published in 2006? You'd think the library would have it...hmmm...may have to order it from Amazon!

              Hi there ladies - I read it on kindle and it is a good read. There are some badly written AL memoirs out there but this one is much better.

              Smashed is the other book that comes to mind.

              I am not reading so many AL memoirs now. They tend to be somewhat formulaic IMO although so too sadly is addiction!
              What I am finding interesting is going back and dipping into great novels written by addicts. Not to get any inspiration mind you!

                If anyone picks up my kindle; I am sure they would be very surprised at all the books on there about recovery. K9, I think I will order Smashed, I did hear it was good. Thanks for mentioning it.

                    I broke down and ordered Parched from Amazon, along with "Unwasted" and one other book that I can't seem to remember the name of. Goodness, you'd think my memory would have improved by now! LOL

                    The other book is a novel called "The Best Kept Secret"

                      I just finished his book. I really recommend it. There are parts in it they resonate very much. She became a morning to night drinker and that was not me, but everything else resonated. The lack of self esteem, the desire to turn to the substance that takes any uncomfortable feeling away for the moment, the missing and wasted time. I'm glad she cleaned her life up and is doing very well now.
